Our stay was pretty good. We had a junior suite. There was nowhere to hang dresses, especially long ones, which I tend to wear on holiday. Otherwise it was fine. Dressing gowns were also provided and the bath towels are huge. Magic! The breakfasts were good, but evening meals a bit samey. We went out for meals for most of the week. Its a half hour walk to the town centre, but the taxis are reasonable. This is an estimate from an elderly lady. Younger people would take much less. A longer walk along the front brings you to night clubs etc. There are plenty of supermarkets local to this hotel and lots of seafront cafes and restaurants. The hotel has a huge swimming pool and a smaller one for children. It is all well maintained inside and out. A shop in the reception area and also a bar are very nice.

Fuengirola, as a destination, already left much to be desired — lacking the charm and class of nearby towns like Marbella or Málaga. Unfortunately, this hotel didn’t do much to improve the impression. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this is a high-traffic, mass-market hotel — busy pool, crowded common areas, and a general feeling of chaos. The staff were, at best, indifferent. At worst, rude and inattentive. Any request felt like an inconvenience, and the service fell well short of even basic expectations. The rooms were passable — clean enough and reasonably sized — but the walls were paper-thin. Every hallway conversation, toilet flush, and suitcase roll echoed through the night. The lifts were another frustration: old, painfully slow, and often overcrowded, adding to the general sense of wear and tear. And then, there was the breakfast buffet. Calling it a buffet feels generous — it was more like a zoo. Whether it was the hotel’s clientele, poor planning, or simply lack of control, the experience was a chaotic free-for-all. Long queues, no available tables, food running out without replenishment — not exactly the relaxing start to the day one hopes for on holiday. In short, I wouldn’t stay here again. If you're looking for a peaceful, pleasant experience on the Costa del Sol, this hotel — and Fuengirola in general — is best avoided

The friendly staff checked us in quickly and on our arrival to our room we fond a bottle of Cava and chocolates! This is my second stay (I had to bring my wife to take in the beachfront atmosphere and great location for exploring the shops, bars and restaurants along the beach walkway). We even walked to the castle! Thanks to all the staff at Occidental Fuengirola!

Excellent hotel and great location

Det var et behageligt ophold, gode værelser, god service og fantastisk morgenmad. Men der var mange "golftosser" ha, ha.

This was our second day at the Occidental, unfortunately that air-conditioning was not working for our day which we were not made aware of on check in. Our room was ready early when we arrived and we were allocated to the ninth floor with a balcony and partial sea view which was very nice. Unfortunately without Aircon, it was just too hot at night even with the patio doors open so we did struggle to sleep. I do have an outside food bar and drinks bar. The sun lounges are comfortable and they provide towels. The occidental is in a great location. We got the train from Malaga airport to Fuengirola and then walked with our cases to the hotel which was about 10 to 15 minutes away. There is plenty to do within walking distance of this hotel.

Ein zwei Sachen die nicht perfekt waren Klimaanlage im Zimmer funktioniert nicht den ganzen Aufenthalt. Klimaanlage war nur zum Heizen zum gebrauchen wird erst später wieder zum kühlen eingesetzt dadurch war es im Zimmer sehr warm. Die Deutschen und italienische Sender im Fernseher ging nicht am letzten Tag gingen überhaupt nichts mehr. Die Verständigung war bei der Rezeption sehr schwierig so konnte niemand Deutsch und italienisch nur ein zwei ein wenig aber bei der Beschreibung des Hotels heisst es auch Deutsch und italienisch das war aber nicht so schwierig zum verständigen wenn wir kein Englisch können

Makkelijk bereikbaar en eten en drinken op loopafstand. Goede uitvalsbasis voor golf, uitstapjes en meer. Net hotel en vriendelijk personeel

The hotel was fine in appearance and the room was standard. The breakfast was too busy and chaotic. The chef cooking the eggs was poor with badly prepared food. The room was very hot. When I asked reception to get someone to look at our air conditioning, I was informed that the hotel can provide either hot or cold air, as it was cool outside, they were only providing hot air to keep the hotel warm. We had to leave the patio door wide open all night to get any sleep. Overall, the hotel is very average and far too busy for the facilities available.

Mahtava aamupala, hyvä sänky ja tilava sekä siisti huone. Kiva parveke ja näkymät ainakin 9 kerroksesta. Ystävällinen ja avulias henkilökunta. Loistava sijainti, kaikki lähellä ja silti rauhallista. Valitettavasti kelit olivat niin huonot, että upeaa allasaluetta ei päästy testaamaan. Erittäin vähän mitään valittamista, mutta ilmastointi oli aika tehoton ja wc harja olisi kiva olla. Kaiken kaikkiaan erittäin hyvä kokonaisuus.

Dårlig service fra innsjekkings skranken. En av resepsjonistene nektet meg et håndkle da jeg skulle på trenings rommet.

Excellent stay good location,restaurant clean and pleasant breakfast choices. Would definitely use hotel again.
