Good breakfast, manager was helpful- dated property though

lovely helpful staff advised on parking. The room we were in needs TLC but after talking with the owner they are making steady progress upgrading the rooms. The bed was comfortable & the full english breakfast was very nice.

Awful hotel, quite possibly the worst I’ve ever stayed in! I think I prefered camping!! The beds didn’t look like they’d been made since the previous guests, had a kettle but no tea or coffee, 2 remnants of toilet rolls, damp everywhere in the bathroom, cracked bat panel, mould all over the bath, wallpaper peeling off, the bedside drawers were ON the bed! I could go on but I’m making myself feel ill, I need another shower after staying there. Don’t do it, sleep in your car first!!!!!

This is an old property and the rooms are from a different age. The bed was terrible (lumpy) but the bedding was lovely and the room was perfectly adequate. Nice view of Penrith Castle and a decent breakfast included.

We booked last minute as we were tired with still a long way to drive home. We were welcomed by the owners and got our key quickly. They said they had only owned the hotel about a year and were gradually doing it up. The bar is listed and absolutely beautiful. Our room had everything we needed after a quick shower we had a great sleep. Breakfast was included in the great price and was top class. Hopefully we'll wander that way again and would definitely stay at the station hotel again.

Room was cold, Damp and very outdated

It was ok for one night but very basic . Clean and tidy but old fashioned and tired decor. Mould in bathroom and shower tepid

Good "bones" and furnishings as it's quite vintage. But sorely needs updates. Stff were fabulous, new owner is doing his best. Very accommodating, staff kept my lunch in their fridge. Beds were clean and comfortable. Lots of towels albeit thin and somewhat tained. Plenty of courtesy shampoo, etc. Pub in the reception area, can take a beer to your room. Instant coffee, tea, and a few packets of tasty cookies in the room. Overall good for a brief stay of a night or 2 but lacks charm and is somewhat dilapidated nd randomly furnished.

It was really good service and very friendly and helpfull staff. We will recommend certainly.

Personally I have never said anything bad about any property i have stayed in but this time i actually have nothing good to say!! very frosty greetings and over charged. Totally filthy, black mould, masive cobwebs dust everywhere, sanitary bin never been emptied and smelt vile. Shower didnt work, very very noisy, offered drugs on way into the building, noise continued till 3am, when leaving the following morning no one about at all and had to jump over sick in the porch and outside the door!! Seemed like a place where some wild drug fuelled events took place!!

Good location and comfortable. Could be 5 stars but lost a few as no breakfast available at the hotel and we were above the noisy music pub. Not great for families but probably good for those out till late or joining in at the pub till 11. Lovely shower but need to wait between those showering for it to warm up.

Under change of ownership when I visited will be interested to see how the property develops

Warm . Clean comfortable

Loved the room. Needs a bit of tlc but the bed was comfy and the room was clean. A nice surprise to find that the windows actually open! Unfortunately there was no food on offer when we went but plenty of nearby alternatives so that was no problem.

The ladies were lovely and made me feel so welcomed. I’ll for sure be returning to stay

There was mould all over the room it was so cold i thought i was in a fridge the shower was broken its as if i stayed in the sherlock holmes who done it jesus how can you let soneone stay there my dog has a better home
