I booked at the Colonial Square Inn & Suites on July 21 and 22 (2 nights). There was a large event in the city and very minimal hotels to rent, so decided to book here. The hotel was exceptionally dirty, to the point that I did not want to take my shoes off. The only reason I stayed the first night was because there were no other hotels available due to a city-wide event. I booked a different hotel for my second night. The room had stains in the bathtub, smears on the walls, nasal mucus, handprints, and a spot on the bathroom floor that appeared to be either blood or feces. There was also heavy dust on the light switches, air conditioner, and hair dryer. I have never stayed in a hotel in such poor condition. I could not even shower due to the lack of cleanliness. In addition, the front desk attendant announced my room number loudly enough for the five men checking in behind me to hear. This is a basic guest safety and privacy practice that should never be overlooked. I had to email back and forth with Expedia for a return, as the hotel would not get back to them. When the finally did, the hotel only refunded me the one night I had to book elsewhere. I did not feel safe here. Spend additional money to get a clean and comfortable sleep somewhere else.

As far as affordable hotels goes, this was up there for the under $100 category - clean, quiet, safe area, 30+ degrees out and the AC worked great, blackout curtains meant a proper dark night- front desk staff grabbed us another towel and pillow at our request and were beyond polite and helpful about it. Great little neighborhood to go for a stretch/stroll in, gas station conveniently across from the front desk for an easy fill in the morning.

Was hairs everywhere

Staff super friendly and helpful. Property and rooms are very dated. Smells like smoke.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL - I stayed here before a couple years ago and it went way down hill. Lots of folks that have longer term stays that clearly struggle with addiction. There were several drug deals and consumption outside of my room. My room was stuck in the middle between 2 folks that are struggling with addiction. I informed the front desk after my first night after being kept up all night and they didn’t do anything about it. I informed front desk after the second night (a different guy and security personnel) and he seemed to take my complaint more seriously. It is definitely not a safe place to stay. Outside of that, my room wasn’t cleaned my and towels were not refreshed. I had to ask for fresh towels several times in order to actually get some. I will not be staying here again.

We ended up leaving at 8pm without being refunded because the environment felt completely unsafe due to outdoor activity around the hotel. Totally disgusted.

I just wanted to let you know how totally disappointed I am about your hotel. We were booked in, got into the room around 3pm on July 2, there were a few people loitering around the outside door to our room. Didn't feel safe, as they looked to be non patrons(homeless) of your hotel. We went out again, around 4:30 pm, and there were more people sitting under our window on the sidewalk. We returned around 7:30pm to find, once again, approximately 6-9 people sitting on the sidewalk. We were very concerned about the safety of our persons, and our vehicle. So I went to the front desk and asked what the situation was with all the loitering. I expressed how unsafe we felt, the staff member said there was security overnight, starting at 7:30 pm , it was approximately 8pm at this time and the security was not there. So, I asked if I could be refunded my room rate, and we would leave. He said it couldn't be refunded, because I booked through Expedia. I contatct Expedia and they said they couldn't refund me either. I ate the loss of the room rate, and we left. Your situation at that hotel, will cause me to never stay again, and to make sure I let those that I know to never stay there. My son had a reservation for the following week, which he has already cancelled. Totally disgusted with your hotel.

Breakfast was not perfect. The surrounding area was not so clean

This place is disgusting it say breakfast included but really they gave you cold sandwich & 2 juice box. Room are disgusting blood stains in the bed sheet table is falling apart and also this is more likely a Crack house place. Someone knocking at our door waking us up asking for some cracks!!! Not safe at all called the security staff. Picture & website is very deceiving not very clean. Terrible and price what we paid for is not worth it.

There was loud late night party and barking dogs till 3:30 am. Have stayed there in past without any complaints. Will think twice about future stays

Hotels should get rid of the part that says breakfast included, there isn’t one. Pros - the beds were comfortable, the appliances were new, it was nice and quiet and the a/c worked. Cons - it shares a parking lot with some sketchy looking businesses, there are unpleasant odors in the hallways, and too much air deodorizer was used in our room. Overall, an economical, okay stay for one night.

The room was good for a one night stay. No thermostat to adjust the temp in the room. No open windows available and the shower had a loud squeal when using it. Otherwise nice place and close to many places to eat.

I liked the location as it was close to where our event was being held at. It was also close to some good restaurants.

Had to ask to get room cleaned n for towels. Noisy outside thru out the nights

It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Smelly rooms, supplies were non-existent, and the AC didn’t work.
