A pleasant stay overall, with a few things worth bearing in mind if you’re planning a visit in spring.
On the positive side, the campsite really impressed us in several ways. It was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. The kitchen was well-equipped too, all the utensils you could need, plus a coffee maker, which we appreciated every morning.
The main thing we struggled with was the humidity. Every morning we woke up to quite heavy condensation and a rather damp atmosphere, which took a little getting used to. We also had a few run-ins with mosquitoes and other insects, the mosquito nets didn’t quite close properly, so airing the place out was a bit tricky.
One thing that did affect our sleep was a constant beeping sound coming from outside at night. It went on throughout the night and was rather difficult to ignore — light sleepers may want to bring earplugs just in case.
It’s also worth mentioning that getting to the campsite on foot is a little daunting. There’s no bus service.
The one thing that left us a little disappointed was the swimming pool, which as it turns out only opens in May. We arrived at the end of April with high hopes, so it was a shame, just something to keep in mind when planning your trip!
Overall, a charming and well-kept site with a lovely team. We’d simply recommend visiting a little later in the season to make the most of everything it has to offer. 🌞
