Just a gem. 5 star experience from arrival through to departure.

Everything about this hotel exceeds expectations. Starting with the warm welcome at reception, the staff are friendly and professional, the rooms are spacious and beautiful - including a large bathroom with rain shower and old fashioned claw tub. And the food is delicious. I would definitely stay here again. An historic gem of a hotel.

The quiet, historical elegance of this beautifully restored hotel.

Mooi gerestaureerd complex op een uitstekende locatie. Goede parkeermogelijkheden en ruime kamers. Toch is dit geen 5 sterren hotel. De service en voorzieningen zouden veel beter kunnen. Elektrisch handdoekenrek niet uit te schakelen, beperkte menukaart in het restaurant, kleding van de wasserij werd niet terugbezorgd, weinig privacy bij de receptie (studenten hotelschool, in en uitlopen personeel)....

While the room was beautiful, very large and well-maintained, and reception was trying hard to do a good job, although not sufficient for a hotel of this reputation, the restaurant was clearly sub-standard. The table which had been reserved for us, was given to another guest, the restaurant manager offered us a complimentary drink, an offer which we accepted by asking for one glass of MCC each. Later one of the two was added to the bill, which we questioned. When we paid at reception the next day, it turned out that the value had been reduced from the tip - very unfair. To leave the light on in the room after turn down service is 20th century and not acceptable in a country with load-shedding …

Beautiful bedroom & bathroom. Excellent breakfasts & dinners

Room was beautiful. TV infront of the bed did not work. Staff did not show us around the property when we checked in. We had to find the gym, spa and restaurant ourselves. In the gym room there was no water and little towels. For a 5 star this is important. The room was beautiful and the bedding very comfortable. The garden is beautiful and the pool water is comfortable

we returned to this property due to our great experience , this time we came maybe at the back end of DEC and the service and food was under par of what they the hotel pride themselves. not to moan but when you planned all year to come here part of your holiday you expect also the same serivce. dinner we had to send our steak back twice , breakfast waited 1 hr and both our meals was tottally wrong, our room shower head was trickling so we had to use our handheld . the venue is really beautiful and our room but the food and service this time was under par,

A really special place that I will go back to repeatedly. It's just beautiful and so well run. If you are staying in Graaff Reinet, don't even consider missing this gem.

Another great overnight stay at one of the best small hotels in South Africa. Large comfortable room tastefully decorated surrounded by magnificent surrounds and gardens all centrally located in the charming town of Graaf Reinet and just a short stroll from great coffee shops and points of interest.

Unique hotel! The room was great - comfortable and spacious. The reception staff was friendly. However, we were not completely satisfied with the quality of the dinner dishes, as well as the service provided by the breakfast personnel. They messed up the food orders a few times, and it took forever to get our coffees.

Excellent stay, will be our forever stop

On arrival we decided to.upgrade to a.suite. the room was beautifully decorated, with lounge area and a fantastic bathroon. Lovely quiet patio with access to the large.car park ( secure). Pool area opposit our room, with towels. Hotel in centre of town with lovely gallery and wine shop attached. Bar is also lovely and cool All.staff friendly

Wunderbares Hotel in einer schönen Gartenanlage. Wir haben den Pool bei 32 Grad sehr genossen. Bequeme Gartenliegen. Sehr großes Zimmer mit Kingsize Bett und Bad. Frühstück sehr gut. Die Atmosphäre zum Abendessen ist schön, das Essen war aber nachmittags bei Maria‘s Coffee besser. Schade, dass wir nur eine Nacht hatten.

We only stayed overnight, but as usual everything was exellent, from the welcome to checking out. Staff all very friendly and well informed. The food was delicious, the breakfast spread was well stocked with many choices, hot and cold. When in Graaff Reinet we always stay at the Drosdy Hotel. They have added carports for parking which is a big plus when the weather is bad. I highly recommend the Drosdy Hotel

Friendly staff, comfortable beds with all the amenities of a posh hotel.

Everything was perfect as always.

Drostdy is an iconic place and definitely worth a visit because of its unique features (architecture, green and recreational areas, location in the centre of town and proximity to natural and cultural high points
