It has cool room. And front assistant is very kind

The booking went through on Expedia for a same day, last minute booking. No information was available on the initial Expedia listing to illustrate what time reception closed. The booking was made after reception had closed. I called a number and told a man that I would be arriving late. He was reasonably helpful. He provided a pin code for the room. Upon arrival in the dark, it was hard to ascertain how to get into the compound so I had to send another text to the Man. He then disclosed that I had to just push the security gate open. Throughout the evening I had a terrible nights sleep. There was no safety chain on the door. There were people setting off fireworks everywhere (this was not on Territory Day) and causing all of the birds in the local area to become disrupted in the middle of the night, thus making lots of loud noises as they flew away. I felt like I was in the middle of a war zone. The bedsheets were clean and the room was clean. There is a sign in the bathroom which says that the water will take over 10 minutes to heat up. I experienced this. Seems like a waste of water, perhaps the plumbing could be fixed? My car was safe and wasn’t broken into which I had been warned could possibly happen. Overall, it’s a terrible location due to the locals making noise. I didn’t feel safe here as a female traveller on her own. Despite the room being clean (basic expectation), I would definitely try & look for somewhere else to stay. Preferably out of town a bit.

Giant bed and huge TV were novelties for me. But I had trouble at first working out the shower tap, then having to step over the bath to use it (older person).

The owner was nice and friendly. The room was nice and cozy!

While this is close to town it felt v safe and was quiet in the ‘back rooms’. It was roomy, had v good wifi, coffee, service from very pleasant staff. Clearly this place has gone to big effort to upgrade itself and its appearance. All kitchen appliances as needed were there and in good condition. We are staying there again in 2 weeks.

Stayed in exec room which was lovely and newly refurbished. Area surprisingly quiet and secure with a gate closed at night. Owners super friendly and go out of their way to ensure the stay goes well. Will stay again

Over priced and dirty

Unfortunately the staff member was rude and said check in time stopped at 6pm, the advisement on Wotif says 8:30 in in check in policy, room was paid in full and the staff member tried charging another$300 on arrival, I had the same issue with this member in previous interaction, I will never ever book another room through katherine hotel, my staff member was left room less, iv used Wotif for years and never had a problem, the katherine hotel member said he didn’t care what your terms and conditions said, his rules were 6pm and we would be charged a call out fee, rude and very unprofessional, now I’m $200 down and my staff member didn’t even get a room. His attitude is unlike no other and I have lived in this town all my life, i had worked with all the roadworks crews around the territory, i will be telling every single person about the disgusting attitude this man showed. Sorry to sound rude Wotif but this man needs to justify why he even has a hotel with an attitude like this.

Accommodating of late check-in.

The property was not secure. People were talking outside the room until 0100. I could here people yelling screaming fighting near by, I didn’t. feel safe and was worried about my car.
