The hotel is old but historic. The rooms were ample and very comfortable. The staff was super nice and went out of our way to help us feel welcome. The location is perfect, very close to the temples and at a 5 minute taxi ride from the train station. Also walkable in half an hour or less. Breakfast was very good. I would have stayed one night longer to be honest.

excellent hotel in historic building and really near the vridge and temples. Staff were very helpful.

接客は丁寧ではありましたが、チェックイン中に他の対応をしだし、待たされたのには驚きました。 また、朝食でコーヒーをいただきましたが、最初に7分目ほど注いでいただき、食事が終わる前に飲み切ってしまいましたが、その後、おかわりはいただけませんでした。 残念でした。

Property itself has has an amazing garden with access to river and some great mossed areas. Also situated on the gateway to the heritage areas. Huge room with intriguing heating, steam-punk stuff. Views from room of mountain ranges absolutely intriguing. Furniture bit worn but otherwise clean. Hotel building fascinating to explore. Staff very helpful and courteous.

This may be my all time favorite of all the hotels I’ve stayed at! It’s maybe not for everyone but it oozes history and it felt like stepping back in time. The staff is really wonderful and were amazing. The beds super comfortable and the room had an amazing view of the river and mountains. If you’re a nostalgist like me you won’t be disappointed.

歴史ある建物はもちろんのこと、紅葉の時期に行ったので庭のモミジも建物とのコントラストが綺麗でチェックイン後、日が暮れるまで散策を楽しんだ。 夕食も年季のあるホールは小綺麗で席と席の間隔も広くまわりの客を気にせず話せそうだったので、ボジョレー解禁日ということもあり、記念に頼んだがディナーとの相性も良く美味しく頂いた。 かなり年季の入った建物なので寒さが心配だったが、スチームヒーターの効きも良く、就寝前に弱めるほどだった。 大人気の日光東照宮の入り口目の前にあるホテルなのに、奥まったところに建っていて全く喧騒も気にならず予想以上に静かに過ごせて大満足の一泊だった。

great stay. The staff was amazing. elegant surroundings that harkened back to the turn of the century. Authentic. Simply appointed with old world charm. Past guests from early 1900’s would recognize its charm immediately.

朝夕食付きにしましたがどちらも満足できました。お部屋はそれなりの古さを感じましたが問題ありませんでした。バスルームに荷物置きがあると良かったです。スタッフの方もホスピタリティがたり気持ち良く過ごせました。

古い建物ですが、とても綺麗に清掃が行き届いていました。

Our room in the annex was very spacious, new and comfortable. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We had to leave early before breakfast so they made us a nice box meal to take with us. We would stay there again.

部屋は清潔で、夕食や朝食も大変おいしく満足。ただ、朝食が7時半からということで、チェックアウト後の観光に制約があった。もう少し早いとありがたかった。

This was our second stay at this fabulous, historic hotel. Food was extraordinary and the staff is terrific. The maitre de was very welcoming and gracious. Front desk staff and support staff are top notch. Well located and just a very meaningful visit.
