I stayed in Solingen as I was seeing a performance of Tanztheater Wuppertal; hotels in Solingen are more reasonable than those in Wuppertal. It's about 20 minutes away, and I figured it was worth the savings. What I did not expect was how beautiful and charming Solingen would be. This hotel is split into several properties - my room was in up the street from the lobby about half a block. While the room was not up-to-the-minute modern, it was spacious and comfortable, with a mini fridge and an electric teakettle. Upon checking in the fellow behind the desk gave me an enormous, complimentary tube of Colgate toothpaste. One thing to know is that there was no elevator in the property where I was staying, so I had to lug my luggage up two flights of stairs. It wasn't a problem for me, but those with mobility issues will have a hard time navigating this. It would be worth asking to see if the hotel has accessible rooms, perhaps in the main part of the hotel? The drive from Solingen to Wuppertal was very nice - I'd been to Wuppertal before but hadn't seen the lovely part of it until this trip. I highly recommend this hotel, and spending some time in this beautiful little town.

We enjoyed being in the center of this charming Grafrather marketplace. We were upgraded to a lovely room and the breakfast was excellent though they charged us 6 euros additionally for "breakfast beverages" when only regular coffee and juices were served. Would be better to just increase the breakfast price and have it include the beverages. We could have used hooks in the bathroom for clothing, etc. but otherwise a very comfortable room and stay.

I was on a business and vacation trip and the place was perfect! The breakfast was delicious, I learned that the bread is prepared right there! You have to try it! The staff was very amicable, especially the staff at breakfast, they were really nice and always caring.

I stay here frequently for business travel. The staff is awesome, the rooms are clean, the area has really good restaurants, and the local people are wonderful.

Tolles upgrade, eine schöne Sitzecke plus Mini- Bibliothek! Alles blitzsauber, Kinsize-Bett, riesige Dusche. Besonders gefiel mir das Design nicht nur des Zimmers sondern auch des Frühstücksraum mit einem fabelhaften Büffet! Ich empfehle dises Hotel ohne Einschränkung!

Das Hotel fügt sich baulich in die historische Altstadt ein und bietet den Gästen einen angenehmen Komfort.

Das Zimmer entspricht nicht dem Angebot. Daran sei aber hotels com schuld, so die Rezeption. Dort würden vorsätzlich falsche Bilder gesetzt. GEFÄHRLICH: Der Zugang zum Zimmer. Wirklich wie eine Hühnerleiter. Extrem steil, verküzrte und unterschiedliche Stufen. Sturz- und Stoßgefahr. Ich habe mir eine Beule geholt, weil ich den Querbalken über der Treppe in ca. 1,4m Höhe übersehen habe, als ich den Koffer wuchten wollte. (Bild!). Dass so etwas als Beherbergungsgebäude zugelassen ist, verwundert mich sehr. Nehmen Sie keinen großen Koffer mit, Sie werden sie nicht die Hühnerleiter hinaufbekommen. Um Beeinträchtigungen im Bewegungsapparat sind auch nicht zu empfehlen. Das Zimmer ist sauber, jedoch weit vom Standard der Bilder entfernt.
