This hotel is cozy and comfortable, and the restaurant offers delicious food. In particular, the Telephone Restaurant on the ground floor serves high-quality cuisine and is definitely worth a visit. It’s also conveniently located about a 7-8 minute walk from the Fourvière Basilica. However, since there are no supermarkets or convenience stores nearby, that might be a bit inconvenient. Still, considering the tranquil atmosphere, comfortable bedding, and clean facilities, it’s a place I would love to return to.

Good location for the old town. I thought the parking was expensive on top of the nightly rate. We had breakfast one day which was fine

No help with luggage to room. Not sure I’ve ever encountered this Very expensive breakfast which was ok but substandard for the price Room service never showed up one day ( we had a suite) One good thing was bar brought a bottle of wine to our room (I gave a good tip) Pictures of French men all over the place. Where are the women? Dinner there one night was quite good grounds are fair-poor. For a high priced hotel, this was well below standard we have experienced over many years It’s far from town with a pathetic “funicular “ which is apparently known for pick pockets, into town No ax to grind here from an experienced, but disappointed traveler

Fourvière Hôtel Lyon is a lovely place to stay for those who prefer a unique lodging with history and character to the predictability of an international chain. The building is an old monastery, converted to a modern hotel. It is located on a hill, near a magnificent Basilica and next door to an ancient Roman amphitheater. An easy 40 minute downhill walk to the town, but the return walk may be challenging. Fortunately there is funicular transportation to and fro that makes this a lot simpler. The hotel provides a good buffet breakfast, and an excellent outdoor restaurant that serves lunch and dinner, specializing in local Lyonais cuisine. The swimming pool is long and narrow and was quite crowded as there was a large party present. The staff were friendly and efficient, and there is a well-stocked bar with good local wines. We can warmly recommend this hotel for your next stay in Lyon.

Beautiful property, very well located with many places to visit within walking distance. Parking is very easy. A unique experience because of the converted use of an old building. Really like the sustainability aspect of services as well. Enjoyed sauna and spa too! Will stay there again!

Je recommande vivement cet hôtel. L’accueil et le concierge de l’hôtel sont très agréables et de bons conseils, L’hôtel est charmant, patrimoine historique mis en avant et très propre. Les espaces de détente spa, jaccuzi et sauna sont biens entretenus et les espaces extérieurs très bien aménagés, le couloir de nage, les chaises longues et les tables de jardin idéalement agencés. Le petit déjeuner complet avec la vue sur le cloître permet de commencer la journée sur une belle note. Détente et plaisir de vivre sont les maîtres mots lorsque l’on pose ses valises dans cet hôtel. Et de surcroît, sa situation géographique sur la colline de Fourvière permet la visite du site Gallo Romain, de la basilique de Fourvière, à proximité et un accès rapide via le funiculaire du Vieux Lyon.

Beautiful hotel well maintained in a former convent. The design preserves its former charm. From start to finish nothing was too much trouble. We were given a tour of the property at check in and a full outline of amenities and options re visiting close by . Breakfast was excellent with considerable choice and the restaurant Le telephones amazing highly recommend. Will definitely be back
