The hotel is a bit dated, but overall it’s a cozy place to stay — especially given the great location right by Lake Mývatn. Don’t expect warm smiles at the reception; the front desk staff were rather expressionless. That said, the restaurant and bar staff were more pleasant and helpful. If you’re traveling around Iceland, it’s best not to expect typical hotel service as you’d find elsewhere. Still, this place was comfortable enough for a short stay and provided the basics I needed.

만족스러운 숙박이었습니다. 전반적으로 시설이 좀 낡기는 했지만 방에 이동식 에어컨이 있던 점이 인상적입니다. 특히 조식이 다른 숙소 보다 다양해서 좋았습니다. 주변에 산책할 곳과 주유소, 기념품점 등 있어서 좋았습니다.

시설이 깨끗하고 모처럼만에 욕조가 있는 호텔이어서 좋았습니다. 호텔 앞에는 호수와 가분화구 관광코스가 있어서 식사 후 잠시 짬을 내어 걸어서 산책도 하고, 멋진 노을도 감상할 수 있답니다. 그렇게 원했던 오로라는 보지 못했지만, 멋진 노을이 있어서 그나마 위로가 되었습니다. 아침식사도 다른 숙소들에 비해 다양하고 꽤 괜찮았습니다. 다만, 온천지역이다보니 유황냄새가 많이 난다는 점은 고려하시길~

숙소 주위 산책하기 좋고 4인실 널찍하고 실내랑 욕실 깔끔하니 좋아요. 조식은 딱히 나쁘지 않은 정도. 큰 기대는 마세요.

직원도 친절하고 객실 상태 매우 깨끗, 그리고 넓은 공간은 가격대비 굉장한 만족감을 주었다. 다만 뮈바튼에 올때는 동네 특성상 파리가 매우 많으니 미리 알고 오면 좋다.

A beautiful hotel, breakfast was so good.. Huge buffet! The staff extremely nice and helpful. Highly recommend!

Clean and comfortable room, wonderful staff, and great food. We had pizzas and beer (including gluten free pizza) and it was top notch. The breakfast spread was also fabulous. Wish we had more time here - what a great oasis in the Mývatn area!

Of all the places we stayed in Iceland this was the most "homey" and friendly. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, comfortable and accommodate our needs. They have a sauna/hot tub that they offer which are nice to enjoy after a long day roaming Myvatin. They are conveniently located right across the street from the pseudocraters. Many people from neighboring areas came to our hotel for dinner and they have their own microbrewery with some tasty beverages! There was construction happening on the Ring Road the following morning and we had to leave before breakfast and they were so sweet to open breakfast earlier so we could eat before we left. They also have in-house laundry service and were able to provide us with a quick turnaround time for our stay. We absolutely enjoyed our time here and would recommend staying here if you need a place in Myvatin.

Facilities were great. Staff were friendly, professional and helpful. Breakfast had a wonderful selection. And dinners had a wide selection of choices for the buffett and off the menu.

Great stay!. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was excellent, and the location was perfect for exploring the Mývatn area. I also loved the free coffee machine in the lobby. Overall great place to stay.

This hotel is amazing. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The food at the restaurant was top notch. Their breakfast buffet was above and beyond. Right across the street from the hotel is a hiking trail around the lake. There are at least 3 to 4 volcanoes that you can see. There is an ice cream store beside the hotel that makes all their own ice cream. It was delicious.

We had a good stay at Sel-Hótel Mývatn. When we first pulled up, we were a little nervous because there were midges everywhere outside, but the staff explained that they are attracted to the light, do not bite, and usually do not fly into the rooms even if you open the window. Thankfully, it ended up not being a big issue. The hotel had some really nice extras that we appreciated, including a free coffee and hot chocolate machine available anytime, plus darts and a pool table, which my daughter really enjoyed. The breakfast was amazing and had the most variety of any place we stayed along the Ring Road. There was a waffle station, lots of bread choices, fruit, cereal, yogurt, bacon, eggs, sausage, and the typical European breakfast options. Our room was a little warm at first, but once we opened the window and the staff brought us a fan, it was much better. The beds were okay, and the location near the back of the lake was quiet and peaceful. Overall, this was a good stay with helpful staff, a great breakfast, and a nice quiet location.
