Clean, kitchen had everything that was needed. Sea views. Staff so helpful, above and beyond what was expected. Use of hot tub, swimming pool, sauna, turkish steam room and gym. Even a playroom for kids. Only issue was that the laundry was really expensive. A washing machine available to guests would have been useful even with a charge.

Spacious clean room, great and helpful staff

Our stay at Whales Bay Hotel was quite wonderful. We loved every aspect of it. The appartments and the common areas are all kept spotlessly clean. The reception staff were really heplful and knowledgeable about the islands. The hot tub and the steam/sauna was a highlight of our day. There is nothing about the accomodation we did not like. We will very probably book again next year.

Spacious, clean, well appointed apartment with a huge balcony. Beds were comfortable and shower was hot with good pressure. Kitchen area was well equipped. Seats at island were too low to be useable. Area in track between 2 glass doors in shower exhibited some black mold. Other than that the apartment was perfect. Could have used some racks for the luggage, but we managed. The wet area of the hotel was very nice. The pool was a great temperature and very clean and refreshing. The sauna and steam worked flawlessly and were spotless. The jacuzzi was disappointing though. Not hot enough and the jets were lackluster with no air blended in. Seemed like it wasn’t functioning properly. Both the gentleman and the young lady manning the front desk were very friendly and helpful. They seemed genuinely glad to have us staying at their beautiful property. The grounds were well maintained and lush. A beautiful resort to spend some time.

The Whales Bay hotel is highly recommended. The place was very nice and clean. We enjoyed swimming in the pool and even got into the jacuzzi for a few minutes. The location is nice also as it is out in a quieter area but still only about 25 minutes t Ponta Delgada. The only thing missing was a nice breakfast.

Has air conditioning

Staff was great, friendly always ready to help. We were with a 2 1/2 year old grandson and he wet his bed and they came and replace the sheets no questions asked. Manager was a great friendly person always asking us if all was well and if we needed anything. We will definetly go back the next time in Sao Miguel.

We chose this hotel/apartment because it has a fully stocked kitchen, beautiful location near the ocean, free parking, pleasant, and courteous staff and away from the hustle and bustle of downtown and only 10–15 minutes car ride away. there is a supermarket about five minutes drive and a few bars and restaurants around. and on top of it, the daily price is reasonable.

Funktional, gut gelegen, allerdings wenig Charme und etwas heruntergekommen. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet, es gibt einen großen Balkon sowie Pool und Saunabereich. Das Appartment hat leider null Charme, ist etwas heruntergekommen (abgenutzte Stühle, wo sich die Beschichtung löst, Kalk und Schimmel in der Dusche, kaputter Balkontisch). Das Schlafzimmer hat den Reiz einer Jugendherberge mit zwei getrennten Betten und ebenfalls abgeschrupptem Kopfteil hinter den Betten. Zudem liegt das SZ zum offenen Flur, mab schläft quasi neben dem Aufzug und hört jeden Gast, der sich in der Etage bewegt.

Loved our stay there. So quiet and clean. The staff was so friendly. Would recommend this to anyone!
