Just wow! I couldn’t believe how amazing the apartment was. Considering iceland is super expensive, i went there in July and all 4 start hotels are more expensive than the vintage hotel but also not even close in-terms of quality of bed, amenities, cleanliness. I was shocked how its price (low) compared to the apartment standard. I stay in 5 hotels most of the time, this place is up there. Very easy access, instructions are very clear. I also was happy to find small olive oil bottle, slat, pepper packets. Espresso coffee capsules within its own box. Once i step out, i am in the middle of most active district. Walking distance right and left. It you open the windows, you can hear the live music in the restaurant one block away. I highly recommend it and i will definitely stay here again. I hope vintage hotel doesnt break my heart and raise the price after this comment 😅

Perfect stay in the center

The apartment was very well appointed. We stayed in the superior suite with myself and two adult sons. Everything we needed was there. We did not actually cook but did prepare some breakfast and lunch things. I was concerned about the lack of front desk but it was totally smooth and they were available by phone. A previous post mentioned no deadbolt on the inside and it’s true, there is no secondary lock however, I felt very safe. Perfect location.

Unfortunately, it seems that all hotels are pricey in Iceland. This one is no exception. However, the property is lovely, spacious, nicely appointed and in a perfect location. The only inconvenience was the noise on the street which prevented us from keeping the window open all night.

Great little hotel close to everything in downtown Reykjavik. Lots of room, comfortable bed, nice kitchen with everything you need, bright bathroom. Easy check-in. The hotel is on a pedestrian street so no parking but tons of restaurants and bars around.

Overall a great place. Nice clean and modern. Fantastic location in the downtown area. Had a nice little kitchen space and great small fridge. Shower was the best I've ever had. Tons of water and pressure. Downsides are it can be a little noisy. Never got any air flow to cool the room down some. It's small.

Loved the property! The building has an interesting history - it used to be a school and they converted it to gorgeous apartments that are spacious and well appointed. The hallways are filled with paintings - many by a noteworthy Icelandic artist. There are vast book cases as well; I came across some art history books about the painter which is how I knew he was a noteworthy figure in the art world. There’s is a small cafe/wine bar on the lower level and a hot tub and sauna on the property - all lovely bonuses. The staff are warm and welcoming, and the properties in a very serene location. I would highly recommend this gem!

Overall this was a great little apartment and I would recommend it if you want to be right downtown Reykjavik. Important things to note: - The apartment we stayed in was on the STREET side of the building, therefore it can be pretty noisy at times. If you are looking for a quieter accommodation I would clarify with the host that your apartment will be other the other side of the building. - There is no front desk or concierge. All communication about check in and out is done via email (which we had no issues with at all). - You have to enter a code to enter the building, then again to enter your floor and finally to enter your apartment. This made us feel pretty safe. - There is no onsite parking. You will have to find street parking. The hotel boarders on P1 and P2 zones for parking (using the parka app). P1 is the most expensive zone so try and park in P2 if you can to save some money. We never had an issues finding parking in the area. - There is a grocery store (called Bónus) about 5 minute walk from the apartments. This was helpful to get food to save money from having to eat out every meal (Iceland is very expensive!)

We reserved the two bedroom apartment for our family of 5 and it was perfect! With two bedrooms, a sleeper sofa, a dining room, a small kitchenette, and a balcony overlooking the main street, we had everything we needed and then some! There is a grocery store a block away and you are close to everything! Nice and vibrant downtown area and a close walk to the water. Yes, bring eye masks and ear plugs as you are in a busy downtown area and the sun is always up. Absolutely lovely hotel. Would definitely recommend!

It provides a welcome opportunity to relax and recharge before the next adventure. One of the hotel’s standout features is its location. Situated just off Reykjavík’s main shopping and dining district, it places many of the city’s most popular attractions within easy walking distance, including Hallgrímskirkja, Harpa, the Old Harbor, countless cafés, restaurants, and bakeries. Another appreciated touch is the complimentary premium coffee available on the first floor. It’s the perfect way to start a day in Iceland, whether you’re heading to the Golden Circle or simply wandering Reykjavík’s charming streets. The building is clean, secure, and remarkably quiet considering its downtown location. My favorite feature, however, was the wonderfully substantial automatic entrance door. It feels less like a hotel entrance and more like a portal connecting two worlds. One moment you’re enjoying the calm comfort of the hotel, and seconds later the door glides open and deposits you directly onto Reykjavík’s lively main street, surrounded by cafés and shops.

Accurate description, great location. Clean units, spacious and well maintained.

This place is great but be aware that there are several bars nearby with patrons that are very loud at night
