The room was very clean and neat. The breakfast was great. The staff very helpful and friendly. It was so hot. Please think about supplying fans for each room.

Large hotel in a good place for walking into town but in need of a full overhaul. Very dated and tired,shabby looking. Breakfast was well cooked but no fresh fruit available. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There is parking but would imagine if the hotel was busy the spaces would be taken up. Wasn’t expensive but wouldn’t stay again . No lift and we are in our late sixties early seventies and found having to walk up many flights of stairs to our room was very exhausting.

The room was very clean with tea, coffee, milk and sugar provided. Not a great selection of teas but fine for us. The beds were comfortable and sheets clean and ironed. Small TV but that didn't bother us as we were out more than in. Good selection at breakfast with cereal, yoghurts, fruit juice. Very good cooked breakfast with several options. Tea and coffee served in your own pots. Staff really friendly.

We stayed for one night. We were attending a wedding close by and don’t live locally. We needed a bed for the night that was inexpensive, had a good check in time and included breakfast. This hotel ticked all those boxes.We checked-in at 2pm, which is rare for hotels now. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We received a personal and lovely welcome with a very swift check-in. The hotel decor is tired and rooms are dated but everything was clean. Beds are comfortable but the pillows were thin and not pleasant to sleep on. We had a TV, a decent shower, (not luxurious but it was hot and powerful), room to put our things and tea/coffee amenities. No aircon but we could open the window. Next morning we had a delicious English breakfast. I have stayed in a lot of 5 star hotels and not all of them have put an English breakfast in front of me as spot on as the Russell Hotel did. It was perfect and delicious! If I find myself in Tunbridge Wells in need of a bed for the night I would stay here without question. Lovely welcome, friendly & helpful staff with a great English breakfast in the morning. What more do you need?! The hotel was in a good location too and had some free parking. A thumbs up from my husband and me!

Staff were exemplary, very warm and made us feel at home immediately. The room was very clean and well appointed. Would definitely stay at The Russell Hotel again. Only negative was the lighting in the room, which was not bright enough to read by, only a very small negative.

Very 'tired' hotel. My room had no desk or proper table with appropriate chair. Had to 'make' my own to use my laptop comfortably. Breakfast was very average. Great location, though, so good value hotel if you just want B & B.

During my stay the whole of Tunbridge wells had no water. When I called the team in the morning, they explained the situation (out of their control) still managed to get breakfast together for guests. They apologised profusely and communicated well about the situation so I could figure out what to do with the day. Then they honoured compensation for the night. A difficult situation with excellent customer service.

We had a wonderful time here. The hotel was in a very good location, easy walking distance from the town. We had a lovely twin room, which was very warm. We were greeted by a lovely lady, but all staff were great. The breakfast was delicious. We would go back.
