Nice property and rooms, but the air conditioning was insufficient. They needed to lemd me a fan to improve the air flow.

This is a charming small hotel in the fascinating city of Matera. Our room was a beautifully finished cave. The restaurant serves a wonderful dinner also and breakfast was better than most.

Beautiful view from the terrace. Very nice and accommodating staff. The room was very unique and felt luxurious. We loved our stay!

This property is just AMAZING! It is set in the old town, part of the Sasi. The hotel is in what was a Palace back in the 1700’s. The room we stayed in was literally a cave that had been updated and converted to a hotel room. The pictures on their site do a wonderful job showing what the rooms are like. The restaurant was excellent. Service, food, and variety. The breakfast spread was very complete and offers eggs and omelette as well which we did not find in other hotels in Apulgia. But the best part of the stay was the staff. The were so helpful. They arranged for parking outside of the old town and for the shuttle from the parking to the hotel. They also had the staff porter the bags to the hotel from the shuttle. They had many suggestions of where to go what to do and were helpful in just so many ways. Highly recommend staying there and spend a few days in Matera. The history there is very unique and interesting and the hiking and scenery are pretty darn special
