Absolute worst. I couldn’t make the reservation and tried canceling prior and was fully declined any refund or credit. Even though they weren’t full booked they flat out refused anything. Karma comes around

Fabulous stay and wonderful hosts.

Beautiful, large bedroom, comfortable bed, stunning view. Everything spotlessly clean. Exceptional bathroom. There was a problem with the toilet which was sorted by the time I came back from my day out and about. Friendly breakfast servers. I asked for more milk for my room, which they happily provided. Parking in the street wasn't an issue, costing £18 per day. Great location.

Absolutely outstanding guest house - I was really impressed from the moment I arrived. The room was enormous and very comfortable, with everything I needed. It was the perfect temperature and almost unnervingly quiet and peaceful. The bed was very comfortable and everything was spotless. Breakfast was great, and the owners were very accommodating.

Nice property. Clean and very close to all things in central Durham. Plenty of good places to eat nearby. Breakfast was good, but fairly basic.

Es war einfach wunderbar. Sehr stilvoll eingerichtet, grosses und gepflegtes Zimmer und Bad mit grosser Dusche. Sehr viel Ablagefläche im Bad und wohlriechende Pflegeprodukte. Das Doppelbett war sehr, sehr bequem und das Hotel sehr ruhig, so dass ich wunderbar schlief. Das Frühstück konnte am Vortag ausgewählt werden. Das „english breakfast“ wurde dann frisch zubereitet und war einfach wunderbar. Der junge Mann sehr zuvorkommend und sehr motiviert und freundlich. Es hat mir sehr gut gefallen und ich kann das herzige Guesthouse sehr empfehlen. Schade fand ich, dass per Mail davor niemand zu erreichen war. Ich hatte eine Frage/Bitte bezüglich Gepäck zwischenlagern. Ich mailte mehrmals eine Woche davor. Mein Mann hat dann angerufen, so dass schlussendlich doch noch alles gut kam.

Loved the hotel decor. Lovely clean room. Great staff. Great location for event at the Cathedral. Lovely cooked breakfast to order, red hot. Definitely would stay here again, we loved it.

The best location to visit the city - 5 minutes walk. The room was very good and the breakfast excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We travelled by train. We went by bus to Beamish using the local bus app. Crook Hall gardens, the Cathedral and the castle all worth visiting and in easg walking distance. We plan to visit again.

Once I found the hotel all was good. The postcode took me straight to it, but it's difficult to see it as it's high up to your left side on a one way street. Parking is available opposite the hotel but the road is quite narrow & the cars are parked at around 37 degrees outside a few working men's clubs. The Hotel will provide a token for parking, but after checking I used my disability card which meant I was parked for free the few days we stayed. The rooms are bright & fresh, the beds are comfortable & clean as the room & hotel is. Breakfast was served at the time we asked & was just right to start the day, thanks to the staff who did this for us. The hotel is very neatly sited for all areas of the town & cathedral. Although the walk up the one way street isn't a pushover by any means. Would definitely visit the hotel again, give them a try you won't be disappointed.

Lovely big room, quiet location near to the station, excellent breakfast.

We stayed for 1 night on the way to Newcastle. The location is great right in the centre, and we couldn't fault the room or service. Great place to stay. Thank you for the hospitality.

Lovely guest house in a great location

Lovely centrally located guest house, friendly owners. Very nice rooms and breakfast. Fourth time I’ve stayed there. Street parking can be difficult, even with a permit provided by the owners, unless you arrive fairly early or late.
