Nice location and a great beer garden. Stayed in river room and had lunch and dinner. Lunch was a decidedly mediocre burger for 20 quid. Dinner—fish and chips with minty peas—was excellent. Room had a lovely patio on the river but the room and furniture were tatty, especially so given the 131 quid price. Bed was quite comfortable, though. Breakfast was in an attractive breakfast room and was quite good. All in all only an OK place for the price, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to stay here again.

Friendly and very helpful staff throughout, which made everything easy. Good breakfast and dinner, a nice canal-side room, and about as convenient as it gets for the station.

Excellent one night stop as part of cycling the NCN4 cycle route. They were able to provide undercover storage for our bikes which was much appreciated.

Nice location, beer and food was very good. The room where OK but it was cold and not much heating available. The place seems run down and could do with decoration. All in all it was OK

Delightful linens, food, ales, garden... and the staff are wonderful. A hidden gem that is a beautiful getaway easily accessible by car or railroad - or indeed on the Kennet by boat!

Over charged us and still waiting for a refund! Don’t stay here! Dirty rooms. Inexperienced staff. Food poor. Service shocking. Lumpy uncomfortable bed. Smell of kitchen food in your room all day and night. No hearing so woke up cold 3 times throughout the night.

We had a great time. Lovely to stay in a place where dogs don’t phase people. We were able to take our dog the dining area for breakfast and evening meal.

A lovely country pub / hotel with most welcoming staff. We had a most enjoyable quality evening meal after a couple of drinks in the pub bar. Full of local folk who were most friendly Would certainly come back again

Very comfortable room, nice touches with water, good quality ground coffee, a cafetiere and what looked like home made cookies. Staff gave us a small flask of fresh milk. Our room had an outside seating area with a lovely view over the river at the back.

Amazing location needs a British Summer to make the most of it. Excellent evening meal and breakfast.

Great location and rooms, but suffering from understaffing and lack of maintenance over past years. Good to see new management on site beginning to tackle these problems.

We stayed at The Dundas when attending a wedding nearby, and it was just lovely. Wonderful staff, super friendly. Our room was great, the bed was so comfortable and I didn’t want to get out of it! Beautiful surroundings by the canal, we had a lovely private patio out to the water. Hoping to return for lunch in warmer weather!
