A very old victorian building could do with a bit of tlc but was cheap and had a good sleep served its purpose

The property was filthy, floors, carpets, banisters, the room, I didnt even go in the shower. No food as mentioned in the original details. Curtains didnt cover the window. Would definately avoid at all costs.

Do not book this property.We walked away and found somewhere else to stay at extra cost because it was that bad.It is dirty, smells terrible, and is unsafe. It looks like they are using it too, put the boat people in and i feel really sorry for them having to stay there. It needs taking of all the booking sites.

Location was great . If the property had been clean then it would be passable. On entrance to this period property you were met with mess in the carparks and garden areas, Garden untidy not cut , rubbish and broken picnic bences. Lots of cobwebs inside and outside the property. It is a big grand property but not looked after needs alot of investment to clean it up and restore it. The basic things like decent Clean mattresses Wàs not even met they were highly stained and ripped in parts, The main bed base was some wood covered with two matresses. the supposed clean room had one of the bed with lots if sticky popcorn down the back of the mattress. The wall grill that kept falling off was covered in black dirt. Tea and coffee facilities had no milk, bathroom no towels. Had to ask for both. Locks on windows and bathroom door either broken or too stiff to move Lots of holes around the room and decor needed updating. Curtains were passable We traveled on our way got a call to say, no running hot water in our room and that we either could cancel which wasnt possibly as part way through the journey or get a max discount of 20% because no other rooms available. So we in a picke from the start. Could have let us know in advance. The issue with the hotel is the cleanliness, and maintenance no way two stars. Im shocked that they can let rooms with what I saw. A member of staff was around to take money and after that on the end of a phone,avail from midday. Very disappointed.

Discusting do not come here i came with my partner n children youngest 8 months old no hot water no heating no breakfast as stated yes theres a pool but condemmed ew

This place will be reported to North Yorkshire county council and The health and safety executive. It is an absolute disgrace that Expedia allow this place to advertised. I wouldn’t allow my dog to sleep here! Needles, exposed asbestos, exposed live cables, no to little fire alarm or emergency lighting.. This place is disgusting.I refused to stay here and found suitable accommodation.

Unclean rooms hallways, carpets stained and the smell that hits you when you walk in. Uncomfortable beds, wifi not working in thd bedrooms and not much power on the shower. Lot's of seagull noise and kid's running up and down the upper floor hallway at night keeping us awake. Felt like a migrant hotel. Booked out early due to all the issues, spend a bit extra and get yourself somewhere decent. Good points, friendly staff and clean sheets.

We stayed for 2 nights August 25, the hotel is very run down, all the downstairs areas on the photo's are crudely locked off or full of junk. There was a terrible smell in the corridor where our room was, the room was basic which was ok but it was the most uncomfortable bed i have ever slept on with a brick for a pillow. The decor was unattractive and i did not consider than any effort (other than the basics) was made towards cleanliness or repair.

Expedia are certainly having the wool over eyes when they advertise this hotel. It is not as advertised. There is no working pool, no games room, no bar / or place to dine. There was a crack in the bath which had been siliconed and holes in the duvet. Springs in beds squeeked and the place smelt bad in hallways - damp carpets. The disabled toilet wasn't cleaned the whole time we were there. The building was clearly quite something in its day but going to rack and ruin now. Defnitely will not be going back to this hotel. Expedia are a joke, using old photos on the site to advertise this Hotel. Stay away from the Green Gables, my son did not feel comfortable staying there.

Booked a family room here for one night to see a band at the Open Air Theatre, so didn’t need to be flash. However, the pictures made this place look quite reasonable, but in reality, the place is shabby and dated. The reception desk is pretty much unmanned with a Ring doorbell and a phone number for a call centre. The rooms are VERY basic, and the double bed so uncomfortable, that when my wife rolled over, the whole mattress moved. The room itself was shabby with stains on the ceiling, and when the person ibn the room above had a shower, we could hear every droplet of water landing in the shower tray!! From around 5.30am, the hotel comes alive with what appears to be a lot of migrant workers staying here, leaving for work, and while I have no problem with this, the amount of noise they created was just unnecessary. We booked cheap, but there was nothing cheerful about the place, and expensive for what you get, I’m just glad I paid for it with my OneKeyCash and not actual money, and will put this down to a bad experience, but I will not be back.

It was really good experience with hotel, free parking friendly staff nice location facilities, The only down side is the beds were extremely noisy u move and u wake up.

Check in was fine, the building is very dated and needs a complete refurbishment. The bedding and towels appeared clean, however the beds were very uncomfortable. Very noisy, could hear other guests talking and lots of banging. No hot water available, and no wifi either. Around 9pm, could hear water gushing down the side of the building (sounded like a very loud shower), this continued all night. Not a lot of parking, other cars squeezed into mone existant spots, causing marks to be left on our car.

The initial impression was that the hotel is tired and in need of a bit of work and this was reiterated upon entering. The use of the ring doorbell to summon the reception staff was unique, but someone did arrive although looked like he was staying there rather than working there. Check in though went smoothly. The hotel on the inside as in serious need of renovation and had a unique smell, rather like a nursing home. The room was large but again tired, with signs of a leaking radiator with mould in one corner. However, if you want a cheap hotel and only in need of a bed for a night, go ahead. We won' be again.

We cant have a shower, there is only cold water. The Pool is out of Order since years. We booked, while we see the Poolpicture. The personal is very friendly.

Have stayed previous and this room was the most unkept room ive stayed in there. The mattress was really dirty and the bathroom was falling apart. Toilet didnt flush properly either.

Door wouldent lock couldent find staff rung bell waited no answer smell hits you as soon as you walk in its very loud noisy other people staying their and their childen no sleep at all bed uncomfortable and loud noises outside im drained

Bed are absolutely dirty, windows are dirty ad spider webs on all windows and dust is on evriting. I was scare to tough somting. Some rooms are really dirty and stinki. My kid's get sick after one night. I send you pictures of 2 mattresses where sleeping my kids on room 27...internet are free but don't working. If I don't get refund I will put this at court so people be careful where you kigs sleep and what you booked for family trip to Scarborough. Thank you for make me and my kids sick and apset for brake trip.
