Nice relaxing stay

It was, as always, the perfect quiet break. A real antidote to the hustle and bustle of normal life. Lovely clean rooms, comfortable bed, great food, friendly staff. What more could you wish for?

Beautiful place, great room with all commodities, very friendly and accomodating staff, good food in the hotel restaurant and bar. Excellent stay, I would be happy to stay here again.

We had a really lovely stay. Clean room with a new bathroom. Nespresso machine and some pods provided which was a nice touch. Great breakfast. Beautiful views, large patio area with lots of seating. Very nice staff. Right on the edge of the moor so easy to get to but with good access to go exploring. We'll definitely come back!

What a gem! Wonderfully located so you can walk straight on the moor by the hatter rocks. Fantastic breakfast, very comfortable rooms and very dog friendly. Our room was in the ground flooor opening out onto garden area, so perfect for taking the dogs out and having a coffee on the patio area. Lovely garden area for evening drinks. We had a wonderful time!

This is my personal view of this hotel. Location and property are very nice. You may have a different requirement for a mattress but they are hard, I dont like hard mattresses so sleep wasn't great, which spoils a hotel for me. Also avoid room 116, there seems to be some sort f water heater or something similar next to or above this room. Makes a lot of noise during the night. Probably applies to adjoining rooms as when you go outside the room door its even louder. Woke us both up

Really lovely hotel and had a great stay as located brilliant for friends in Bovey Tracy. Only two small disappointing things from the stay. When there is an event on (party in my case) the car park gets full as parking isn’t marked out so cars park with large spaces between them. I struggled when I arrived back at 9pm. The second issue was the heating I couldn’t switch it off in my room and it was like a sauna even with the window open. I noticed quite a few windows were open in rooms so wasn’t just the one I was in. In the winter I’d imagine it’s heaven but in mid-March it’s just too hot and stopped me sleeping. Having said that the hotel is great, and wouldn’t completely put me off staying again it’s just a couple of things which were disappointing

Overall, our stay was great and we had a lovely time. The food in the restaurant was amazing. The only quibble was that our cream tea took 30 mins to get to us in the afternoon, and then our dinner took 1 hour due to some timing issues with a big table. However, the waitress was incredibly lovely and apologetic for the delay - in the end, our food and drink were all free due to the delay, which was appreciated. We loved the lounge area too, such lovely decor and the atmosphere was welcoming. Our room was slightly dated (furniture) but it served its purpose - the bed was super comfy and the bathroom was lovely and clean. We could hear quite a bit of noise from adjoining rooms (doors closing and voices) but luckily didn’t go on into the night and was very short lived. Overall, we would definitely stay again. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Relaxed, staff always very helpful and friendly. Another enjoyable visit.

When it says dog friendly, it means dog friendly.

Great setting. Food was delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable but you could hear when someone was walking about in the room above and also when they turned the water on in the bathroom.
