Staycation is my purpose of staying at Hive Hotel. My room is clean overall, but there are some parts that do not appear to be regularly cleaned: like inside the wardrobe cabinet; the table lamp has a thin layer of dust on it; the sofa/bed and bedside tables don't look clean. Comfort level is medium, because the air conditioner is not cool enough, that I had to request for an electric fan; the window is not able to filter out the sounds from outside/streets, and in a bustling 'gimmick' area of QC, it get noisier in the late evenings, therefore I couldn't get a restful sleep. I love the eco concept (they use rainwater for flushing toilets, floorboards are from recycled wood, complimentary purified water in mason jar, inverter air conditioner, etc.), and the semi-retro design of the hotel. The rooms are a lot bigger than other boutique hotels. The location is very close to a lot of restaurants. In fact, it's only a block away from Il Terrazo mall. Breakfast was plated, not buffet, and it's not bad, but not excellent either, and not a lot of choices if you want to order room service. I appreciate they gave me complimentary platter of local fruits plus a glass of calamansi juice, when I inquired about fruits for room service. Overall, hotel is great, but only because I couldn't get a good night's sleep - that alone might not make me want to return for another staycation.
