To be fair, good and bad points will be listed here for your consideration and be careful when choosing this hotel. This hotel cries wine and sells vinegar.
Good points: The hotel is located on a quiet street with a lot of shops/ cafe/ stores nearby. It takes less than 10 minutes to go to Dalat Market. The room is quite ok for this price (quite cheap). The receptionist - only the man from the night shift (5pm - 6am next morning) is nice and helpful. He is willing to support you. Those are the things that I still love up to now.
Bad points:
1. Booking support and facilities: We booked through a travel agent for a deluxe room because we had been impressed by the design of the room online. However, when we reached there, the reality made us - disappointed. The room was very small which was poorly furnished and equipped lower than a standard 2-star hotel. There wasn't enough electrical sockets for the TVs, fridge and fan at the same time. Be prepared. Just some faking apologies to let the things go. After a moment of negotiation, the hotel promised to change us a new room on the next day. The main point here is that, you should have the marketing ethics when working in the hospitality fields.
2. Buffet: What an awful buffet for any kind of cuisine! The menu is too poor for choices. I can't believe that menu was for guests at the land of vegetables. Some noodles without any kinds of seasoning even though the broth was ok. Drink was poorly provided (only tea and coffee without ice). The table wasn't set up for the next guest to have the buffet. Used dishes, chopsticks, bowls, glasses, dirty napkins were on the table for half an hour!
3. Policy: The hotel policy and the internal management were actually unreasonably inconsistent! We booked and paid for 3 nights from Mar 12 - Mar 15. Due to our personal needs, we had already informed the hotel to request for the late check out until 5PM on Mar 15 (4 hours later than the required check-out time) before booking. We had received the confirmation from the responses via Messenger that late check out will be charged for 100.000VND. After that, there was no more confirmation from the hotel until the last minute. We must actively to make a call to the hotel then we recognized that the fee for late check out had been doubled without any apologies or confirmation. But that is ok for the fee. the main contact person of the hotel blamed that it was our fault to inform the wrong check in time and she couldn't sell that room to anyone else? Finally we were ready to pay 200.000 VND for our late check-out request but she seemed to urge us leave the room as soon as possible because she had already sold that room for another guests! We wonder what are the things that cause the increase in the check out fee? We paid already 3 nights! Is is true that she is an unethical sale person?
4. We were given a voucher for 2 slots of free drink at Arum Coffee. However, she did not take care of us when we asked about the menu with free drink offer. She said that we can choose drinks on the menu. It was not until we reached the Arum Coffee to know that only tea and coffee was available with the impolite responses from the welcomer girl at Arum Coffee.
5. House keeping service: A woman doing the cleaning tasks seemed to have some problems with her behavior. She fails to ensure the cleanliness of a small room (18m2). Trash and small dirty stuffs are everywhere, under the bed room, on the balcony even in the bathroom. She didn't provide us any toiletry stuffs (shower gel, comb, soap) except the towels. We required to change the bed cloth and the blanket, she ignored. She didn't rearrange the blankets and the pillows after cleaning the room. Because we were storing ice in the fridge, we asked her not to unplug the power sources, but she deliberately did it! Ice melted and water spread on the floor. We ourselves had to clean the floor again. Is this a homestay or a hotel? Why?
After all, we had to conclude that:
The host's voice was very nice but that was useless to support us during the time we were here. She promised a lot of things to support us but she went back her words seriously! This hotel didn't deserve to be ranked in the list of 2-star hotel. Staffs are hypocrites! I have stayed in many guesthouse, homestay; those places and people there were even better and nicer than in Full Moon Hotel! Be careful when you book this hotel!
