Excellent stay, very clean and great staff.

Lovely setting, full of old-fashioned charm. Dinner was really disappointing - multiple dishes from the menu were not available, and our 3rd choice of sirloin steak was mediocre. Cheese platter was good with a generous helping. Bed was far too soft, no support at all, a really uncomfortable night. Breakfast was ok but nothing special.

Sehr schönes, altehrwürdiges Hotel in wunderbarer Landschaft. Freundliches Personal. Geräumiges Zimmer. Bequemes Bett. Gutes Essen.

3 night stay enjoyed the surroundings had a game of golf on the golf Course. Very relaxing.

Disappointed with buffet breakfast as one morning it took over 10 minutes for the bacon platter to be replenished and another day only 3 small croissants left - both these occasions happened before 9 am.

Grand looking place. But very old fashioned. Nice and clean. Staff friendly. Plenty of close parking.

Amazing building in tranquil setting. Staff very welcoming and night porter was fabulous. The hotel is not the most modern but that is its charm.

A lovely and luxurious hotel in need of updating in some respects. Our room was a little odd - enormous but with a low ceiling and small windows for the size of room which made it rather dark. It is also rather dated and the furnishings are showing their age a little, but still very comfortable. We ate at the hotel on one evening and none of the items we ordered (both mains and wine) was available although on the menu. Porridge was a strange omission from breakfast for a Scottish hotel.

Food, service ok. Room needs upgrade. Door closing mechanism requires maintenance, along with fire doors. Noise of doors closing in middle of night not acceptable!!!!

Stayed here a few times but the bedrooms are really starting to look rather tired. Shame that they were also a bit dirty. Staff service was excellent however.

Property is vast and very dated. It was extremely clean but in need of a refurbishment. The second picture is room wallpaper.

Needs a multi million pond refurb. Like fawlty towers or a 1960’s nursing home.

Fabulous golf course though tough. Staff excellent and very attentive, food excellent. Building is a little tired in places but not enough to spoil our stay.

Stayed in a deluxe family room which was excellent. Very spacious with 2 large seperate bedrooms, hall and very large modern and beautifully finished bathroom. Smart technology mirrors in both bedrooms and good sized tvs. Beautiful views from the large windows and good storage in cupboards. Bathrobes and towels for the pool in the cupboards. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and glad we paid a bit extra for the deluxe room. We’ll definitely be back. Lovely traditional expansive entrance with lots of character. Great full sized snooker table room. Dining areas and conservatory all very nice and traditional. Swimming pool was a really good size, with good sized changing rooms. Lovely large windows overlooking the golf course. Jacuzzi was good but not the most modern. Sauna was out of order. Beautiful surroundings and lovely vast historical building. A nice walk through the woodland and past the golf course into Gatehouse. Overall really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

Excellent place. Very friendly staff. I highly recommend this place even if you don't play golf

Excellent location and facilities

Lovely stay with the family children loved the pool excellent that there are no time limits as to how long they can enter also loved playing on the golf small putting green thanks to Jane , Nat and Barry for making our stay so enjoyable would definitely return
