Above all I wanted some orange juice in the morning but the one carton did not suffice for all residents. There was plenty of toast, yogurt & cereal available though for the self service continental breakfast. As an older building, noise through the floors & doors are evident but not too intrusive. Apart from being handed the keys, I didn't see any staff which was fine... It was nice and clean, a few small maintenance jobs were outstanding... However these are all minor, it well surpassed my expectations for the price paid & I would recommend... Quiet street, close to restaurants, bus stop shops & sea front it was perfect for me.

The breakfast was plastic containers filled with cereal and yogurt. Smelled marijuana a couple of times. Doorknob didn’t latch. Woken at 12:30 am by people running up and down the halls and pounding on doors (naked). Place was very clean but tired. No hot water at 9 am.

I would definitely not recommend Mary House!”” 2 weeks before our check in day I messaged because I didn't think we'd arrive before the 8pm latest check in time stated on the booking, I received absolutely no response, and it was clear from the call I received shortly before our arrival on the day that they hadn't even read the message. When we got our room the ceiling light was flickering and not at all bright, the light on the wall didn’t work at all so the only light in the room was a single bedside lamp positioned basically as far away from the door as is possible. The headboard was loosely built and wasn’t attached to anything so even the slightest movement caused it to rattle, wobble and bounce loads. The shower hose leaked meaning there was dripping water for some time after the shower is turned off. We had to find alternative accommodation as we didn’t feel safe or comfortable in the room, so far we haven’t had any response from them so suspect they haven’t read the messages we sent them on the night of check in either. Meaning until I can find some way of getting a refund we paid for two stays that same night!

Warm and comfortable. Close to amenities. Easy check-in. Breakfast wasn't fancy, but perfectly acceptable.

It was ok generally, although bed was so uncomfortable. Adjacent rooms were very noisy at 1 am coming back in. Probably wouldn’t stay again, sorry

We had a very nice stay at Mary Houseand would definitely stay there again.

Would not recommend stained carpet in bedroom. Stained pillow’s protectors. Only cereal and toast for breakfast dirty dishes left everywhere
