다른 후기들이 왜 좋은지 이해가 가지 않을 정도 였습니다. 객실은 엄청 좁고, 구조도 특해서 사용하기에 불편했으며 문고리도 이상해서 열쇠도 잘 안되어서 힘들었어요. 무엇보다 문고리 부분에 날카로웠는데 미처 보지 못해 제 경량패딩이 뜯어졌네요. 화나요. 아무리 유럽이어도 객실은 너무 어둡고(화장을 할 수 없을 만큼) 화장실은 너무 습해 해충이 나올까 두려웠습니다. 실제로 쥐며느리도 나왔구요. 벌레도 벌레지만 너무 습한냄새가 심해 화장실 문을 열기 싫을 정도였어요. 다른곳들의 위생도 걱정되네요. 청소는 제대로 된건지... 침구도 별로에요. 2일 이상 묵으면 정말 불 편할듯 싶네요. 베게커버 보니 이케아더군요. 조식가능한 룸은 두세개로 나뉘어 있는데 따듯한 음식(계란, 토스트 등)은 주방이어서 매우 불편하고 동선도 이상합니다. 직원들이 친절한 것 빼곤 시설, 청결 모두 가격대비 저렴합니다. 추천하지 않을거에요..

Easy access to train stations and restaurants.

The decor was beautiful, with wonderful furniture and art and quirky layouts that made the old palace charming and inviting and a delight. The staff was terrific, the complimentary breakfast was delicious, and the location was in the heart of the old part of town. One of my favorite hotels of all time.

Stunning rooms, very clean, comfortable bed, kind and caring staff, wonderful hot tub and sauna with an appointment and you can also make an appointment for a massage. It's centrally located and can easily access downtown neighborhood and other nearby neighborhoods with fantastic shops. Very walkable, keep in mind that the tiles you walk on are from the 1700's, they're rocks that have been polished from so many walking on them and can be a bit slippery at times. There is a parking garage right next to the hotel if you're not able to find street parking. Overall a home away from home.

Beautiful hotel. Very well maintained and lots of great spaces to sit and contemplate or share a drink. Rooms have balconies which is very nice. Great breakfast. Helpful staff. Great location.

I didn’t want to leave this place! It was absolutely lovely! From the smells when you walk in, to the violin and piano playing during breakfast, this experience was my favorite of Portugal! The staff immediately treated us like family and recommended great places to eat. I wish I could have stayed longer!! Definitely recommend you staying here!

One of the best hotels in Lisbon. Our twin room with a garden view was clean and cozy, the staff were very attentive, and the location was perfect—just a 5-minute walk to the city center and train station. I would definitely stay here again.

This is an older hotel that has seen better days. On checking in. I was informed that they did not accept American Express. I found this odd for a four star hotel. Shortly, after arriving, the heat for the water system broke down, and it was several hours before we were able to take a shower. There was a fair bit of indifference to the situation from the front desk. They did do a very nice job with the photo, and breakfast. It is in an excellent location. This hotel is an experience from the moment you walk in. It's lovely and historical and full of character. The staff are very professional. We were in black pepper no 1 room with a 4 poster bed and roll top bath. While I would absolutely recommend the hotel for a lovely experience and a nice spa. Sherry, coffee and bottled water in the room was lovely, we did experience a few disappointments. The biggest reason for booking the hotel was the appeal of piano playing over breakfast. Unfortunately though, at least during our two night stay, the piano player sat reading the paper for the first half an hour of breakfast, by which time we had finished and were heading out on excursions so we didn't actually get to hear it. That was frustrating. Also the internet didn't work in our room for most of our time there. It was fixed on the second night. Also don't book this hotel if you are a light sleeper unless you want the experience. It was quite noisy with screaming drunk people outside. Despite closing the shutters and curtains it was still hard to sleep.
