Rooms beautifully appointed. Staff friendly. Breakfasts good quality. Some rooms face a road but we weren’t disturbed by late night traffic. Meals in the Fence Gate Inn reasonably priced and of good quality. Would definitely return

Had a great stay , beautiful rooms and surroundings and great breakfast , the sister pub across the road was also lovely and very accommodating , highly recommend 👍

Very aesthetically pleasing hotel and room. Only downers were that the bar and restaurant were closed for a function. The room was nice and well sized. Would have been good to have had more bottles of water (just 1 small provided) room was very hot with no fan/AC and the road noise was awful, not a very good night sleep.

Stayed in the 1 bedroom suite. Really comfortable bed. Luxurious bathroom. Nice sitting room with tv. Receptionist was lovely and really helpful. Breakfast cooked to order, was fantastic. Dinner just down the road at The Fence gate Inn, literally 100 yards away.

Great location and lovely hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are great. Only problem was it was very warm in the room and no air con and no fans available . Very sweaty nights sleep.

Lovely decor in the hotel. Our suite was gorgeous. We ate in the restaurant and it was lovely, great menu. The pub is very cosy, very relaxed feel to it.

Hotel spotless, room comfortable and staff absolutely lovely. So friendly, cheerful and nothing was too much trouble

Dog friendly trip. Bar wasn’t open, pub with food is down the road, there was a wedding reception which was busy and the dog wasn’t allowed at breakfast so they pulled me a random table in next door nowhere near breakfast. Laughable!

The rooms were fresh and nicely decorated, the bed was very comfortable and relaxing. The bathroom was very well designed with a great shower and twin sinks. The breakfast was amazing with fresh products and great locally sourced ingredients for the cooked option.

Lovely staff, but room was right on busy main road and didn’t sleep a wink from the cars driving by all night. Room wasn’t very clean - opened bottle of water on nightstand from previous guest and clump of black hairs gathered in the corner of the shower. Meal at the restaurant bar was super noisy because it was so busy and meant service was poor. We cancelled our desserts because we’d waited so long for them. Breakfast was very average with concentrated, long life fruit juices, hard croissants, and fruit salad made up mainly of apples. Didn’t meet expectations to honest, so pleases we were only staying one night.

Our second visit to this delightful establishment. The setting and surrounding area is so pretty, plenty of parking spaces and an easy walk to the nearby bar and restaurant. The staff are so welcoming and have time to talk to you, most important in my opinion Checking in was easy. We booked a suite and we were very happy with it as it was stylish and also had everything we could possibly need including a Nespresso coffee maker!! The bathroom was large enough for a lovely walk in shower, large bathtub and double hand basins and was tastefully decorated The bed was supersize and very comfortable - a great night’s sleep. Breakfast was a joy. Freshly cooked and choices of cereals, fruit & yogurt plus delicious home made granola! We shall definitely return to Fence Gate Lodge in the future and thoroughly recommend it.

Fence gate lodge is a lovely place to stay. It is lovely both inside and out. The rooms are well presented and the staff can’t do enough for you. The breakfast was really good and the lady serving it was friendly and efficient.
