Great place staff helpful and very friendly good breakfast good choices you can get lunch and evening meal in the pub great food and service will go back again

Staff went above and beyond accommodating us arriving in the middle of the night. Thank you very much!! Beautiful premises, lovely and clean. Great freshly cooked home cooked food. And gorgeous ales!! We will be back

We stayed 3 nights in the family room, and really enjoyed our time there! The property and its pub/restaurant are lovely, and the beer is great too! The room is well prepared, clean and has everything you would need. Breakfast was lovely! A nice cooked menu and also some continental items to get stuck into, while you wait for your cooked breakfast. My only negative feedback for our stay, would be the waiting time for the cooked breakfast to come out. For me this really needs to be sped up. We waiting an average of 30-40 mins for the cooked breakfast to come out after ordering it each moening. I appreciate that as there are only 8 rooms to cater for, that they may like to cook everything fresh, but perhaps starting to cook a number of sausages earlier would save time. Apart from that its a great hotel!

Excellent staff made us feel so welcome the room we stayed in was nice and quiet, evening meal at the restaurant was nice, the breakfast was superb the toast was really good and the mushrooms tasted so good.

Car park was full in the evening so had to park in a lay-by nearby. The staff were helpful and the breakfast was good. We were in a top floor room with a very low ceiling that could do with some padding on the corners as it was a safety hazard.

Great central location

Nice room and nice breakfast. Room had a Christmas tree in the window which I thought was a nice touch. Food and beers all good too.

The place was warm, friendly and busy. Everything was very clean and in good condition. Large portions at breakfast. Only slight niggle was slow service on arrival, after a testing journey felt a bit ignored.

Lovely place to stay, very friendly team of staff

Single occupancy for two nights - small room, but clean, good shower & comfortable bed. Food (smoked salmon & scrambled eggs for breakfast and Cajun chicken salad in the evening) was excellent and portions were generous. Staff friendly and efficient. All for a very reasonable price. Great location to explore Lake Windermere.

Bedroom had a massive wooden beam across the bedroom restricting head room. We are only short it still meant that we had to duck our heads when getting out of bed. Narrow stairs up to our bedroom. Reviews said food was excellent but was adverage.

From walking in the door staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean, with a good powerful shower. Breakfast was excellent in terms of quantity and quality, again with very friendly service. The only slight negative that I had was, what I assume was air freshener, was very overpowering and unpleasant.

I just wish I had more time in the area

This was very much a last minute decision. Booked expecting a 3pm check in. We were in the area early and asked if we could check in early - staff accommodated us. Tom was lovely and clean. Staff were kind, friendly and made us feel at home. We were so impressed we had dinner - great local food and a great range of drinks in the bar. Bar was frequented by regulars who were friendly and keen to point out their favourite menu choices. The bar is dog friendly, however the restaurant side is dog free if you want a quieter break. They be around 12 different beers. All are so good we bought bottles for find and family. We will be back.
