Older hotel style with character but one of the cleanest I have ever stayed in. Staff can’t do enough for you and spa facilities are nice and quiet

Beautiful hotel. Staff friendly. Lovely pool and spa facilities. Massage was lush. Room spacious in house. Quiet and lovely countryside views. Close to Cricklade. Breakfast was fabulous. GF and DF catered for. Will definitely stay again.

Room and welcome was fine. Unfortunately had poor customer service at Breakfast and cooked breakfast seemed to be luke warm as felt had been sitting in their copper canopy serving dishes for a while.

We stayed the night ahead of spa treatments we had booked. Rather surprised to be asked for a deposit against damage to the room! Otherwise staff friendly and replied promptly to a request to ensure a twin room which was spacious and clean.

Booked one night here in late January with my wife. Lovely old building on the outside. Most of the staff were nice. There was one who was a bit rude but that wasn't really the issue. The room we were given was old, and in the uncleaned staff wing of the hotel. Quite ugly and not in the main hotel, despite the fact that the hotel was virtually empty when we stayed. Being in what appeared to be the staff wing, meant that the outside door in our corridor was left open most of the time, despite the January cold and rain. As well as being cold, this gave open access to anyone, which was a little concerning. The breakfast was ok. Not great. Not terrible. Just ok. We were denied a late checkout even though we requested this at check-in the previous afternoon. Check out was 11AM. We asked for one hour so we weren't rushing but they wouldn't let us. Their reason to refuse us could not have for hygiene reasons because when we checked out, we had to walk past cat turds that were left in our corridor from when we checked-in the previous day. The photos I attach show the same turd. from check-in to check out. They may want to clean the rooms early, but everything else, not so much so it would seem. Over all, a nice building. Perhaps if we had been given a more sanitary room and the midday check-out that we politely asked for, our rating would have been higher.

3rd time staying in a family room. Perfect set up for families with little kids. Pool always clean and quiet. Staff are great with kids and very accommodating.

The spa and dinner in the restaurant was wonderful. The decor needs updating/modernising.

It's a lovely hotel we have stayed before in both the main house and the outbuildings. Plenty of parking and beautiful views. Food and breakfast were nice. The main menu for dinner has changed since our last stay which I believe was the previous July. Personally we preferred the old menu we didn't feel the options were as good this time but that may just be down to personal preference.

The staff were exceptional. Great breakfast. Rooms were comfortable, albeit the radiators could be stronger.

A hotel with character. The rooms while older have everything you need except air conditioning for summer. A lovely pool with sauna and steam room. A very comfortable bar area. Reasonable prices for dinner and an excellent breakfast with good service. Well worth a visit.

The facilities within the property were good as pool and changing rooms were clean. Only thing I would say that wasn’t good was we booked the kitchenette room and it had no plate, bowls, kitchen essentials like cutlery or anything. Kitchen was bare.

Fortunately for us our two nights was as result of cashing in Tesco’s Clubcard points and not a cash booking. If I had of paid the £670 cash price I would not have been impressed or deemed this day value for money it simply wasn’t worth £670, also we were charged for the privilege of using the bar on top of the cost of two glasses of Pepsi Max service charge £6 per order even though we are residence at the property .

This hotel is a little remote but that adds to the charm. The staff were friendly and treated us well. The room was spacious, a little cool but well designed. There was a microwave and small air fryer and fridge in the room, however no utensils other than disposable bamboo plates and wooden cutlery, it wasn’t used but could be helpful to know. The breakfast was very good, fruit, cereals, pastries and cooked breakfast as well. The resident cat Doris is a gentle and friendly little old lady aged 19, she is a star member of staff

Staff were friendly and we were made to feel welcome. Food was exceptionally good although drinks were expensive. Breakfast was good with a great selection on the menu. The windows in the bedroom didn't open making it feel very stuffy and hot. The carpet in the hall and leading to our room was badly worn to the point it could have been a trip hazard and badly needed replacement.

Great location, great value for money and genuinely nice staff. The rooms were a bit dated with stained carpets and old window coverings.

Breakfast very good, although now a buffet. Waitresses very helpful, but slow to clear away used plates. Room very, very clean and excellent quality slightly let down by old leaky tap washers, and only one hand towel in a room for two.

We had a lovely overnight stay. The receptionist and the bar staff were particularly helpful and pleasant. It was lovely to have a swim and sauna in the morning before checking out.

Parts of the hotel are a little tired but generally you still feel you are in a ‘proper’ British hotel. Staff are all lovely respectful and helpful. All youngsters but really nice helpful people. There was a wedding in and a 90th birthday but the staff made it all happen together well. Recommend a visit to this traditional hotel.

The hotel was lovely. Unfortunately the room was not quite what i was expecting. After booking and paying for a superior room (four poster bed) in the main building, which was one of the most expensive rooms in the hotel), I was somewhat underwelmed with it on arrival. No four poster bed which was disappointing and the furniture looked very tired. Also the toilet was full of black stains in the bowl.

Staff very welcoming and food good. Room very clean but tired decor with a broken hot tap and badly corroded metal toilet brush. Hotel needs TLC
