The lodge was quite good in terms of cleanliness,environment,and amenities in the room was good.The staff{Amand)was quite good,respectful and always attended to my needs.My only concerns during my three days stay was the type of people that stays in the hotel.In my second night stay,i had some policemen knocking furiously on the door next to me.This was exactly 03.15am.I couldnt get back to sleep after all the noise and shouting. On my last day,just about 05,55,the fire alarm went off.Apparently one of the resdent might have been smoking in there rooms despite information and signage left in there rooms not to smoke anywhere in the hotel.The alarm went off for about 10mins before the staff managed to deactivate the alarm.That also disrupted my sleep and had to be up for work at 06.30.

Family-run hotel. They were very kind and helpful, providing secure overnight bicycle storage. The hotel is on a busy road but the rooms face the garden and are extremely quiet. It seems to have been recently renovated. The room was light and bright. Good shower. The bathroom and room were spotless

The roomed smelled really bad like someone had been smoking heavily inside. The bathroom also smelled really bad. The place is located in a no so nice area. Would not recommend.

Service was brilliant! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, only get one key, but that was all we needed. Absolutely lovely service, friendly, welcoming and would happily stay again!

There was no very clean

Location was good for our needs, the room was spacious enough and the shower was larger than expected which was a bonus. The greeting was great and a good explanation of how to get attention if anything is wrong ... however, voicemails are not answered; no TV remote and no hair dryer available despite listing it on theirwebsite. On our second morning the shower was stone cold, I asked later that day why the phone was not answered pointing out I had had to buy flowers to thank a former neighbour for allowing us to use their shower - no apology, just "we'll fix it". Overall minor issues that could so easily have been dealt with far better but not somewhere we will return to or recommend.

The man on reception was very friendly but that’s the only positive. The room smelt like cigarettes so it was unpleasant to sleep in. There were dead flies all over the windowsill. The duvet cover had red stains on it (hopefully not blood) and the bedding was damp. Could hear lots of screaming and crying from 5am for about an hour.

Warm welcome, clean, simple but comfortable for a business trip stay. Some good venues within short walk for food and drinks.

It was very basic but then we did only pay £45 for a double room for one night. Only one mug, 3 pillows. Couldn't deadlock bedroom door. The only window was a sky light and the automatic blind was half shut and broken so we were unable to close it for the night. Consequently we were awakened when it got light. I wouldn't stay here again but you get what you pay for.

I just needed a bed for one night, Oscar Lodge did the job. Shame about the noisy neighbours in room 2 at 3am

A good basic option for short stays. Small room and basic but very comfortable bed. Very quiet b&b and good location. Had a couple of issues. Shower had been tripped and so no hot water for the first day but they resolved it once reported. Booked two adults but they only provided towels, cups and glasses for 1 person. Had to request additional. It was clean but they had overlooked the wooden floor which we found very dusty. Very basic but overall it suited our purpose. Happy with the stay for 3 nights.

Pleasant clean and well-furnished. Convenient location and reasonable price.

Good location, clean place, good value and lots of local amenities. Parking is available in residential streets either side - no hotel parking, but should be plenty spaces close enough.

I thought everything about the place excellent particularly the welcome I received.
