Great boutique environmentally friendly hotel. They made our stay very special

We stayed at the Eyja Guldsmen Hotel in Reykjavik for five nights this July. We thought the interior design was cool and liked the minimalist vibe of the room. Even with an upgrade which we appreciated, the size was pretty small and was tight quarters for the two of us. The room was clean, very eco conscious so only cleaned once during our stay. Would have loved a refrigerator - itʻs extremely expensive to eat out in Iceland! There is free parking at this hotel which was a bonus. It was not super close to the center of town which I didnʻt realize when we booked. Overall, we had a pleasant experience but I think for the price we were expecting more.

We enjoyed our stay

Excellent stay! I was a solo traveler and it was great to stay here. There is an elegant sophistication yet awesome, chill vibe. The breakfast is phenomenal and kept me full through my adventurous days. The main area is inviting and comfortable. The staff are wonderful and always approachable for any need. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it for couples, friends, and families as well.

The hotel itself was very nice and comfortable, and the staff helpful and friendly. However, the floor had many transitions - bumps that made it difficult to roll luggage easily over them. Also, paid almost $300 usd and breakfast was not included? And it cost more than $30 usd to add it? Breakfast - the cheapest meal of the day to make! The only other choice was the small grocery store next door. Way overpriced for what you get.

A Hidden Gem in Reykjavík – Warm, Stylish, and Wonderfully Eco-Friendly We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Eyja Guldsmeden and can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff were incredibly friendly. The gentlemen at the reception (sorry don't know his name - he was there on June 30 in the morning) went above and beyond to check us in earlier than hotels standard checking time and he gave us a room with the beautiful view that we enjoyed throughout the entire stay. The hotel itself is beautifully designed with cozy rooms and welcoming atmosphere. Our room was spotlessly clean, with a very comfortable bed, soft linens, and the ocean view. The hotel’s commitment to sustainability is evident everywhere, yet it never compromises on comfort or quality. The location is also ideal – slightly tucked away from the busiest streets, which makes it peaceful at night, but still just a short walk to downtown Reykjavík and major attractions. Thank you to all staff at Eyja Guldsmeden Reykjavik. We hope to see you again.

Very mellow and cozy atmosphere in the lobby area. Excellent coffee and tea selections. The room had a nice European feel to it. We enjoyed the balcony view of the ocean.

Relaxed ambiance and great location (free parking, yet close to the city centre). Laura at the reception desk gave us great tips for our day tours and dinner parties!
