Very spacious room, very clean, staff were great, extremely quiet. Beautiful hotel.

Room was 58 F on arrival, thermostat was off, a small electric heater was running . Turned on the thermostat with no change noted, left for 2 hours had gone up to 59 F. Called the desk and the reception clerk came up and said there was nothing he could do because the hotel was full. Maybe change rooms tomorrow. The tiny heater warmed the room up by 1 degree every hour or 2 and we managed to sleep. No one ever returned or tried to fix the problem, we ran the electric heater continuously till we left after the second night. On checkout a different clerk was not surprised when i told her we had no central heat and voiced an apology. No attempt was made to fix the problem or compensate us for the problem, and no one seemed concerned about the fire risk of running a space heater in our room for 2 days nonstop. When we checked online after the desk clerk said the hotel was full, we found that the hotel was still taking reservations. While staying there we saw no attempt to shovel the parking areas or walkways and we noticed that the fire exits were piled with snow. If the space heater had caused a fire we might not have been able to exit.

Staff are excellent, rooms are new and lovely. I can only give three stars for a winter visit. Heating units in rooms we were in could not keep up with the cold. Bathroom floor icy cold. I would still recommend although ask for a room that has better heating.

Absolutely love this place. Loads of character. Great breakfast. Big rooms with high ceilings. Huge bathrooms with heated floors. Extremely comfy beds. Great location. My preferred place to stay in the bay.

10 foot ceilings, new large room, view of the harbour. Hot complimentary breakfast.

L'hôtel est fantastique et a beaucoup d'histoire. Le personnel est accueillant et professionnel. La chambre avec lit king est très confortable. Juste un désagrément, il faisait froid dans la chambre et la toilette, on avait une petite chaufferette électrique, mais c'était froid quand même. Je recommande grandement

I was very excited to try this hotel. The old courthouse is beautiful and the room is very clean and comfortable. However, it is impossible to rank this hotel highly due to the absolutelyshocking amount of noise experienced when trying to sleep. I know it’s not uncommon to hear noise through the wall at a hotel, but this is the worst experience I have ever had with this. The noise flows freely through the walls, the ceiling, outside the door of the room. You could hear the details of every movement, every footstep of the neighbors, even a toilet flush. I had earplugs but that did nothing to help. It was so disruptive. We hardly got any sleep the first night we were there. The second night was a little better because I think there weren’t as many guests, but we could still hear all the details of the room next door. This hotel desperately needs to attend to the sound issue. It’s very nice, but this is not a place I could ever stay again and I can’t recommend to others because it is so disruptive.

We didn’t have a proper shower head for taking showers. Daily check into the hotel is at 3:00 pm but when we got to the hotel after 3 pm we were told the room wasn’t ready. They eventually told us it was ready. Our room wasn’t cleaned after the first night and we also ended up calling for bath towels late at night. We felt we weren’t getting to what we paid for to stay in the hotel.
