When I checked in I was basically thrown a key and shown to my room. Don't know if they remembered me from the previous stay a few days earlier but either way they should have made an effort to describe amenities and so on. This visit I ate dinner at the restaurant and while the food was good I had to wait over an hour from ordering until the meal was served. The outdoor seating is facing the road outside the hotel and made it a less enjoyable experience. On my final day I had a night flight so I paid extra to have my room available until the transfer to the airport but despite this housekeeping came and tried to clean the room three times. I would recommend the Omali if you only intend to sleep there between flights or as an outpost for tours to Sao Tome city and neighboring areas. It seemed like there were better options if you were willing to stay further from the city

Only spent one night between flights. Staff was friendly during check-in. Breakfast was okay but a little limited in choices which is to be expected for a small island

A really nice hotel on a beautiful island. The absolutely best thing with this hotel is the fantastic staff that is extremly helpful. They really do that little extra to help you any way they can. I can really recommend a stay at this hotel. You will not be disapointed

I loved that the air-conditioning was switched on to cool the room prior to check in. Room was surprising roomy and really comfy. All the staff were super nice.

The Omali is an oasis of pristine calm in the chaos of São Tomé. The hotel and gardens / pool area are immaculate. The restaurant food was by far the best food in or near the capital. 5 mins from the airport (no noise). The beach is a bit grubby but far better than the town beaches. Local area was safe in the daytime when we went out although not a lot in the immediate area to see. I upgraded to a suite as wasn't much more but well worth it as room was huge.

The staff were engaging, super helpful and friendly. The property is easy to reach from the airport with plenty of parking. It is well located to explore the island

This property is by far the best on the island but that speaks more to the inadequacy of the other hotels that to any superiority of this one. That said, although Omali is not a luxury hotel, it either has everything that you need or is within driving distance to everything that you need.
