Avoid this hotel. The hotel is not maintained and the basic functions, heating/cooling, lack of cleanliness, plumbing and response to immediate and continuous issues was poorly handled. We had to leave. We were moved from 2 rooms on the 3rd floor with overwhelming moisture and cooling failure and a disgusting mildew odor. There were casual efforts to open windows and spray something that did nothing. The moisture and mold issues were obviously li standing. We were moved to other rooms on the 1st floor and then to two alternative ones on the 1st floor, with the same issues with plaster and light fixtures literally falling off the wall due to moisture. The doorman actually tried to bring us into and occupied room and the women was shocked, and scared. The rooms are actually falling apart. The staff is clearly expecting these concerns but they truly have no ability to fix the issues. They say ownership have been notified of the extensive issues and they “seem to do nothing” . The staff is helpless to correct any of it . We had to leave. We may or may not get our money back but the place is uninhabitable and should not be rented until overhauled.

The hotel's beach setting with outdoor seating for dining, a pool, well-kept grounds, and a friendly staff, make this a great place to stay for business or pleasure.

I had a horrible situation with the Reception Managers, especially Mr. Jorge and Mr. Vasco. When paying for the extras, Mr Vasco increased the total amount, and when I asked for the receipt, but I only received the receipt after accepting giving to Mr, Vasco a BRIBE (he said “money for refresco”) . Otherwise he would not give me any confirmation of payment. Also, the receipt was showing an amount less than what I paid, and Vasco made me understand that the difference is going to him Very uncomfortable, disappointed. I felt horrible The hotel overall is not bad, but corruption, bribery … are unacceptable. They do have very nice workers, but Mr Jorge and Mr Vasco are definitely people I cannot trust.

Veldig bra hotell ved havet i Maputo. Alle ansatte var veldig høflige og smilende og imøtekommende. Frokosten var vedlig bra med alt du kan ønske deg. Bassenget var dint og rent. Rommene pent innredet om enn litt slitt. Men ikke så slitt at det påvirket oppholdet. Klimaanlegget fungerte bra. Vi testet også kveldsbuffeten og lunsjbuffeten ved flere anledninger og maten var bra og god. Alt smakte godt. Fikk veldig god hjelp av Concierge Rose til å booke turer og utflukter.

All was good and friendly people...except not understanding wh3n you say family room...with a 16 year old son you NOT share same space with him

Food and dining room staff was great as well as the Assistant Food and Beverage manager Nasser. Rooms were outdated. Bathroom shower was in poor condition and the lighting in the bathroom was terrible. Pool lounge chairs were worn out.

We had a fantastic stay here. Even though there were some Mastercard issues everyone was very helpful and service minded. The breakfast was fantastic

Internet in the room was poor. I had to go downstairs to do my work. The food was soso. I checked out a day early and want a refund for one night.

Nice hotel in Maputo. Arlindo was especially very helpful. Some of the people in the restaurant could have been a bit more smiling and service minded though. The smell in our room was not so good, a bit "old, humid smell", but all in all a good stay with good food. Very nice garden and swimmingpool area.

I Highly recommend the Suthern Sun Hotel Although the rooms need a little bit of an update, as certain things start to look a little bit old and rusty, but it’s always kept clean. People are kind, eficiente, room and bed are comfortable, and food is great 👍👌

Very comfortable and welcoming vibe throughout the visit. Beds are wonderful. WiFi was always available throughout their facility and outdoors. Breakfasts are amazing! Employees act like they enjoy working at Southern Sun. Very clean!

O hotel está muito bem conservado e os funcionários foram swempre muito atenciosos e cordiais. O café da manhã é bom e completo. Sua localização também é muito boa. Apenas que quando eu reservei no hoteis.com recebi a informação de que o meu quarto teria 40 metros quadrados e na verdade não tinha nem metade disso de tamanho, mas apesar desse detalhe a estadia foi muito boa.
