Only the location was good. The room was dated but not that bad. The most problem at this hotel is staff and service. They alwasys kept lying. At first, they said twice of taxi fare and later they changed the word. Moreover, they promised me to serve breakfast box instead of breakfast buffet because I had to leave earlier. But in the morning they said they have no idea even paid including breakfast. And after I checked thier note about breakfast box, they said the cook has some problem.. excuse and lie again and again.

i made reservation in Oct for staying on 31 Dec but they did not inform anything until i arrived the hotel. When check in, they said there is no room and introduced the zanzibar hotel . The zanzibar hotel is cheaper than Dhow but i did not have any choice. They kept bring other overbooked customers to the zanzibar hotel. plz double check if you reserve Dhow palace.

We had the presidential room and definitely a wow on arrival but there were a few issues. Maintenance going on at the property that wasn’t mentioned at booking and it made the pool unusable as well as the elevator and common areas not attractive. It also meant construction noise from morning to evening. Specific to our room the bath was not useable due to no plug and we didn’t sleep so much due to a banging tin roof right above the bed. We did advise the staff but they weren’t bothered.

Det var et bra hotell. men det var under oppussing så vi benyttet ikke bassenget pga en pressenning som dekket den ene veggen og vannet så uklart ut. Frokosten kunne vært mer variert. Bedre kaffe. Men badet var tipp topp bla kunne du dusje i friluft. Toalettet ble tett, men det ble fikset raskt.

Good breakfast, very boutique, heritage style hotel showing history given it's located in historic Stone Town. Very good vibes, accessible to most locations from waterfront, to infamous fish market, to excellent restaurants, stores etc.

Beautiful property and great location in Stone Town. The breakfast and kitchen staff were amazing and very welcoming. However, we booked the Presidential Suite but were not given that room and were instead moved between lower category rooms. The issue was not properly acknowledged, and staff insisted all rooms were the same and similarly priced, which did not reflect what was advertised on Expedia. Overall, the stay did not match the booking, so I’d recommend confirming room types in advance.

The pool was a godsend as it was really hot out and the pool was refreshing. The staff was great and took the time to always see how we were. The apartment was large but a little dated which probably was in tune with the charm of the hotel.

The bedframe is very short so if you’re above 175cm you can’t lay straight. The staff is very kind and interior wise it’s well done.

We stayed in an upscale room and was fabulous. This hotel is part museum and the antiques and style make it interesting, staff was very friendly and the food was very good. Courtyard pool was very nice. No elevator but would recommend the upper floor rooftop.

Wonderful place. Almost like a museum :) so many things to see! The rooftop terrace is fantastic. Breakfast offered many options and even eggs made to order. Location is great, everything in Stonetown is walking distance.

Very happy with our stay. The room was spacious and clean, the staff very helpful and location of the hotel was great.
