We traveled in a big group. 3 of the couples, my self included were celebrating anniversaries and our oldest son was coming along for the festivities. At check in we get our room assigned and key. We get to the room and it is super HOT! My hubby immediately went down stairs to complain. They told him they knew about the problem and it should be fixed by 4pm-6pm. Our son's room was also very hot and he said im not staying in that room. He went to the front desk they told him the same thing. At 6pm they both go back up to the front desk, they tell them 9 pm. Finally at 9 pm my husband at this point was mad and demanded to change rooms. They moved us with the condition that we move back to our assigned room the next day and they let us keep the keys to the hot room. My husband said no and refused and gave them the keys. He told them that we were not moving. That is not how we wanted o spend our 1st day, specially after traveling all day. However they refused to move my son. Our son refused to stay in that room because it was so hot. He ended up sleeping in our room. Keep in mind that we were celebrating our anniversary and he wanted to have his own privacy. Which he did not get. The resort has alot of good things. The beach is absolutely beautiful. The events at night were great. Something diffrent every night. The pools were nice and kept cleaned the only problem is they closed the pools at 6pm. The housekeeper was amazing. The island is beautiful. Overall we had fun.

Its Ok for 1-2 Days . Property is old but clean and quite. long beach so you always have a beach view. There was 1 ea restaurant in renovation but that is also reason why there were sometimes lines at the bar. Overhaul was Ok the kids enjoyed the swimming pool and beach.

This was my second stay at this property. The staff is great! Property itself is very clean. This is an older resort, the rooms need to be completely updated. Food is good. The beach is amazing, pools are nice and clean. The location is a 10 minute taxi ride to downtown Willamstad.

I did not have the experience I'd expected because I did not receive the room I'd booked nor the upgrade I was offered and paid additional for. My room was NOT as described, no king nor double queen beds, no beach access from the ground floor, and barely an ocean view as it was covered by the fence and bushes (usually referred to as "garden view"). As soon as we got to the room, I'd gone back to the "Sun Club" to advise we had been given the wrong room. For 4 hours, the staff and management pretended to be correcting the problem only to later tell me the property was fully booked and I would not be given the room I'd booked and paid for. I'd tried to make the best of my trip however, some of the staff wasnt friendly, the restaurant staff was rude with the exception of a few people, the food was mediocre, and none of this helped the initial problem. I was so disappointed.

The Sun Club room was always very clean each day during my stay at the resort. The private beach access very clean and quiet. The beach view was amazing and hotel staff was very helpful and provided assistance when needed.

The absolute best thing about the resort was location. The beach and water were the prettiest I have ever seen. The property met our needs with good specialty restaurants, friendly staff and plenty of loungers for all. The only recommendation I have would be to focus on the world buffet cafe. Better selections, keeping things filled, and some days the staff was not organized with getting silverware and coffee. This would not keep me from returning, we had a fabulous time and I recommend.

Room needs maintenance, my room had alot of issues that needed fixing. Sliding back door was not closing, sink was not draining properly, closet doors were not working. There were various issues, complained about it and nothing was done to switch rooms or no upates were given. Maintenance came and that was another issue which I can't post.

The only thing we enjoyed was the beach. The service was very unfriendly, particularly the front desk and unhelpful. We requested a king bed and got 2 queens. The room had no towel rails, loose electrical sockets, mold in the shower and although we got an ocean view room, we couldn’t enjoy it because there was no net curtains on the windows, so if you opened the blackout curtain, everyone across from us could see right in! We had ceiling tiles fall down in the bathroom and a flood of water in the closet. After constantly pressing the font desk we finally had to pay more to get an ocean view room, but it also had a leak running down the wall. There were very little choices in the nicer restaurants and it was hit or miss with the quality of the food. I had some beef that was like leather and every dish got the same vegetables, which were basically raw. The Italian restaurant was definitely not Italian food, other than serving spaghetti. There were not enough servers in the restaurants, so the service was slow and bad and in most cases unfriendly, with hour waits outside to get a table. You had to reserve online for the Japanese restaurant at 1pm sharp, or 5 minutes later it would be fully booked because they only had 3 teppenyaki tables. The bar staff were also unfriendly and didn’t know the correct ingredients for most cocktails, or even have those ingredients. At the beach or pool, which was dirty, they would only allow one towel per person.

The staff greeted us warmly, and it was nice to see balloons and cake for the birthday celebration. However, the room had outdated furniture, which was a bit disappointing. One of the restaurants was under renovation, and unfortunately, we were not informed about this at the time of booking. When it came to the food, it was served at room temperature, and the steaks didn’t seem to be of high quality. The buffet offered very limited variety, and on September 16, 2025, there were no serving plates available at 9:00 AM. The entertainment had two enjoyable nights, but the rest were merely average. Very disappointed for the price that was paid. Would like to see some type of compensation due to limited restaurants. The sheets were stained.

Would recommend to anyone back home to stay here. More needs to be done in terms of the breakfast options, but overall it’s a nice report.

Had a terrible time.

This was my first time traveling to Curacao, and the Sunscape was awesome. All of the dining options were great except the buffet. The nightclub was closed while we were there which was a bummer. More active night activities would make the resort better. The location was amazing, but the hotel could use some upgrades. We had no hot water in our room the whole trip. Complained to the front desk for 3 days straight, and nothing was done. Other than that. The stay was great.

While the beach is one of the best on the island and the grounds are beautiful, all the rest, particularly the rooms, need a total gut job! To say it is outdated is an understatement. The infrastructure is broken beyond repair, Air conditioning, working faucets, sliding glass doors that jam, chipped paint, shower curtains that fall off, toilets that don't flush, musty smells, and dark rooms were all in need of complete overhauls. The Italian restaurant was great and the Hibachi restaurant was good. The two others had very limited selections and the buffet was the worst we have experienced on any island. The hotel definitely needs more staff. Long waits for restaurants and drinks was unacceptable. Finally, when the island lost power, this hotel did not have working generators like others surrounding it, and we had no power for 16 hours. While this hotel is considered budget friendly, be careful about choosing affordable. It wasn't worth it!

Honest opinion!!! Pros: staff are sweet as can be! Couldn’t ask for nicer staff. The beach is stunning and great for snorkeling. Also very good coffee at the cafe! Cons: the building/rooms are outdated. Not a huge deal to me but it’s hard for the AC to keep up with the rooms due to older units. It was on 60 the whole time but felt more like 75ish. However We did ask for a fan and they brought it immediately. The food is also very average. Hibachi was probably the best one. For an all inclusive it is not a bad price however we would do a different resort next time and probably just pay a bit more.

They served the same food every night and pretty much every morning

We have been visiting this resort for the past 5 years. The staff is wonderful, always kind, friendly and helpful. The entertainment staff, especially Candyman, Crazy G and Marvett, do an excellent job of hosting activities that everyone will enjoy. We can't wait to come back next summer.
