Its a nice mid sized hotel on the beach. Our main issue was with the room we were given. It turns out that we were given an 'upgrade' by the hotel. It may seem churlish to have an issue with an upgrade but in practice it did not give us what we wanted or had booked. We had booked a junior suite as it included a separate sitting area (i.e. sofas) and a good sized kitchenette. We were allocated the honeymoon suite which is in effect a small studio apartment but with a separate private sun terrace. In other words you sacrifice inside space for outside space. However, we are not sun worshippers and in practice it rained for 2/3 days and on the sunny says the terrace had no shade and was a sun trap making it unusable. During the rainy days we had nowhere to sit other than on the bed. We were only told about the upgrade when we asked why no sitting area as expected and that the hotel was full so no option to change. Dont get me wrong, we do not go away to sit in our room but inevitably there are obviously occasions where you spend time in your room and the room we were allocated did not guve us what we needed or had booked.

Staff was very helpful and courteous. The room was very nice with a patio and access directly to the pool, beach restaurant and the beach area.

Second time at this great hotel. Lovelly beach, pool and restaurant and bar. Ideal location fir beach walks and other restaurants. French door out of our bedroom would not close and had to use a piece of string to close it.

Great Time!

This was our fourth time staying at Bougainvillea. We always return for so many reasons. The friendly staff from front desk to every employee we come in contact with. The overall cleanliness of this resort. The quiet relaxed atmosphere.

Great hotel on the south coast, a little isolated with nearest bars and restaurants being 30 min walk or short car ride away. Staff very friendly, rooms are a good size. Had lunch a few times in the restaurant and was always good. Being the South coast be prepared for some waves but beach in front of the hotel is lovely

Fantastic views. Great pool area. Friendly and courteous employees. Liked the balcony area and having a kitchen was a bonus.

Room was spotless, staff were friendly and accommodating, the location was spectacular! We will be recommending!

The beach was great (sandy, very little sargassum, low surf that even my young kids could swim, lots of chairs), the pool was fun, having guest laundry available was nice, the kitchen was well equipped (coffee maker, toaster, dinnerware), the on site restaurant (Calabash) was very good, parking was easy and the location was great for exploring the island. We would stay here again.

Super stay here for Christmas as a couple. Great location, clean amenities and friendly staff; everyone from the front desk, to the restaurant and the pool bar were lively and helpful at all times of the day offering local recommendations. Highlights: - laundry services (washing machine and dryer access) were a great touch as we were staying for a while - close to Oistins (10-15 min drive) - great gym facilities - general layout of the hotel, easy to navigate - activities organised each day along with live music in the evenings creating a nice buzz without being chaotic - splendid private beach Lowlights: - the strange business of guests reserving sunloungers at 6:30am with towels and not returning until late afternoon leaving a continuous shortage of towels for those who actually need them - would have been useful to have an introduction to the hotel services upon check-in (i.e. restaurant opening hours, gym location, laundry services, second restaurant, Deia around the corner) etc. Otherwise, would definitely recommend and will be returning.

Good option and at same level as Hilton. Great beach, pool is a bit cold, service is classic Barbados from the exepecfion of the restuarant!
