전체 평가 및 리뷰 Cyashitsu Ryokan Asakusa

We had a pleasant time for most of our stay- the place is pretty and location is convenient. Food was good and the staff are friendly. The only hiccup was that the ryokan double booked us for the private hot spring bath. When we checked in at 6pm, we were told that the latest time to book the hot spring was 9pm, so we opted for that. We grabbed dinner, had a quick stroll around the Sensoji temple, and rushed back to make it in time for the booking. We got the key to the hot spring from the lobby as instructed earlier, my partner showered and entered the hot spring, but suddenly, someone unlocked and opened our door, but I managed to block it in time. This gave us a shock because we didn't expect another guest to have keys to the private bath that we booked and are using. Imagine if you are girls using the private bath and some man walked in! Thinking that the guest must have mistaken the time, we were about to continue when minutes later, a lady staff came and knocked insistently, saying that our booking slot was earlier and we missed it. Despite trying to tell her that we didn't make a mistake, she insisted and asked us to leave the hot spring immediately. The relaxed mood was really ruined at that point. After taking the trouble to undress, shower and get into the hot spring for only 5 mins, my partner got back out again, went down to the lobby to showed the staff the paper which another staff earlier had written our scheduled time for the private bath to prove that we really didn't make a mistake on our booking time. Only then the staff apologised and offered another slot for the private bath again at 10.30pm. We could've explored Asakusa more after finishing our baths at 9.30pm, but ended up waiting around just to use the bath. The staff did apologise again, but I really wished she would've trusted us or checked first instead of assuming.
