An amazing stay! The location is a bit remote but everything is accessible by a taxi. The hotel staff is incredibly welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended for a modern twist on a traditional Japanese experience.

Overall very pleasant and unique ryokan experience in Hakone. The location was tucked away from the main areas which added to the ability to relax and disconnect. The dinner and breakfast were both delicious - highly recommend the sukiyaki for dinner! The property only felt a little dated but the flip side was it did feel more traditional lodging than a modern property that wouldn't give us the same unique accommodation. The in-room onsen was small but actually quite nice if you are sized to fit in it. The ability to book the private onsen was exceptional and was thoroughly enjoyed. The complimentary shuttle service to/from the bus stops was very helpful, although it would have been nice to know that pick-up was offered in advance of arriving, as we walked uphill with our luggage from the bus stop which was challenging. The check-in experience was rocky, as there was no-one to be seen when we arrived at 12pm, despite having confirmed that as our arrival time in advance. After that though the experience with the staff was very nice. The hot water in our shower did not work in the morning and unfortunately was not able to reach anyone prior to 7am. Overall would recommend as a memorable ryokan accommodation if you are wanting to be slightly removed from the busier areas and want to disconnect for a night or two and enjoy lovely dining options!

We had a wonderful stay at Centurion in Hakone. The hotel was fantastic in so many respects: the food was incredible, service was outstanding, our room was amazing - a haven of peace and tranquility. I think we had the most relaxing three days of our lives there. We would highly recommend.

The food was fresh and amazing. The hospitality is very warm and welcoming as well. Our room also had a nice open air bath that you can relax. Facilities are very clean as well.

Easy to get to, amazing staff that can flexibly switch from Japanese to English if needed. Food is amazing, the Japanese Breakfast is both beautiful and delicious. Nice accommodations, calm hot springs baths, both public and private. Would return for another Ryokan getaway.

We had an amazing experience here. The staff were amazing, the rooms very comfortable, the food fantastic. It is a bit further away from the main activities of Hakone, but the team will help you navigate the bus system, which was relatively efficient.

The staff are exceptionally attentive, often providing personalized service and helpful shuttle support that enhances the stay. Rooms are peaceful and thoughtfully styled, many with private onsen baths that offer a relaxing, intimate experience. Meals—especially dinner—are generally delicious and well presented, adding to the sense of luxury. That said, the hotel’s quiet setting also means it’s a bit remote, so transportation can be less convenient. We found the private baths smaller than expected, and breakfast leans more Japanese than Western. Prices are on the higher side compared to simpler ryokans, which may affect value for those prioritizing convenience or larger facilities. Overall, Centurion Hakone Bettei is an excellent choice if you’re seeking a tranquil, high-service retreat—perfect for unwinding, but less ideal for travelers who want easy access to sightseeing or budget-friendly options.

The ryokan feels very good, new yet also traditional and quiet. Facility/Amenities: Heated tatami floors are good taste. Things I loved in the room - 3D shower, Dyson hair dryer, foot massage machine. The reserved bath is great. The public bath is small for a public one but I ended up being the only person at the time I used it so that was ok. Things I didn't like - it is too bad the bath tub in the room was bath salt based. I also didn't expect an uphill going to the ryokan from the bus stop so that was exhausting. Food: Food was good, especially breakfast. (Dinner options is sukiyaki and shabu shabu so they are just expected level)Things I wish were available - for the price, I feel like food service could have been in the room. Service: I felt the management is putting a lot of effort in providing English speaking staff, but I preferred, at least, the option, of Japanese speaking staff. Explanation of food for example, was very simple. A few words, which does not do justice to the quality of the food being served.

An out of this world experience. Excellent food and service. Second time coming and will return.

すき焼きの夕飯も良かったのですが、朝食の白飯が釜で炊かれていて美味しかったし、鯵が肉厚で見たことのないような品で感動しました。

スタッフの方がとても明るくフレンドリーに話しかけてきて頂き元気な気分になりました。庭の木も綺麗に手をかけていて非日常的な時間を過ごすことができ又行きたいと思いました。

客室のお風呂が自然と一体化していて癒されました。スタッフは、客同士の会話をさりげなく聞いていてさりげなくアドバイスしてくれます。しかも違うスタッフ２人とも。とても良く教育されていて素晴らしいです。大浴場は小さかったので貸切露天風呂を無料でチェックイン時に予約できますので、おすすめします。食事も美味しかったです
