The rooms are reasonably newer looking. The air conditioning in the first unit didn't work so they moved me. The furniture is a little worn. The bathroom has no separation between the shower and the rest of the bathroom so water gets everywhere. The rooms have old school keys and if you want the room to be serviced while you're out, you need to leave the key with them. There is quite a bit of noise inside the hotel and it seems like there is a lot of smoking outside which permeates into the room. The staff is crooked. For example, there is a menu in the room for room service. I was there for a bunch of days and ordered chai (tea) and some food. When the time came to settle up the bill on the last day, they told me that the menus in the room were outdated and the prices were higher. The net result is that the tea was billed at twice the rate of the menu and the food slightly higher than menu price. I didn't have the energy to argue with them but it is a shady business practice and on that alone I wouldn't stay there again or recommend the place.

The property by itself is fine and is 20 minutes to hawa Mahal but the 2 rooms we got smelled like cigarettes and clearly had stained sheets.
