Efter en lang dag ved Bath og Stonehenge nåede vi frem til Grosvenor Arm's i Hindon, Salisbury. Og hvilket skønt sted. For det første havde vi fået fine mails fra stedet forud for vores ophold, som inspirerede os til blandt andet at besøge det nærliggende estate og park Stourhead. En smuk, smuk oplevelse, som vi ikke selv havde fundet. Også Gold Hill i nærliggende Shaftesbury fik vi set. Vel fremme på hotellet blev vi mødt af den fineste stemning og det mest venlige personale. Værelserne var skønne og muligheden for at sidde i den lille fine gårdhave var dejlig. Vores middag i de fine pub-lokaler indenfor var perfekt, og personalet gjorde deres absolut bedste for at få os til at føle os hjemme, selv om vi kun havde en enkelt nat på stedet. Tidligere var der 17 pubber i byen - nu er der 2. Vi er glade for at The Grosvenor Arms var en af dem. Vi vender meget gerne tilbage hertil.

From the very first moment to the very last, everything felt genuinely wonderful. We’re surrounded by Michelin starred spots at home, yet The Grosvenor’s food doesn’t just keep up…. it outshines so many of the places on our doorstep. Dinner was beautiful, breakfast was a delight, and the coffee was pure happiness in a cup. Every member of staff was warm and lovely, the bed felt like sinking into a hug, and all the little touches were so thoughtfully and beautifully done. My only complaint was that we couldn’t stay there another night!

I only stayed 2 nights and was out all day with friends. I wasn’t in a car, didn’t take breakfast in the hotel or evening meal so can only rate the room. It was clean, well appointed and comfortable. An enjoyable stay.

Absolutely amazing food , staff and room

Clean room with nice touches like freshly baked cookies, glass bottled water and fresh milk.

When searching, I was under the assumption this hotel was in Salisbury. Turns out it was in a small community that was accessible by vehicle (taxi in our case) only… Very disappointing. Because I was asked to prepay and there is no refund, I forfeited 2 days hotel stay. I communicated my issues with Grosvenor Arms twice (voice mail and email), however never received a response from them. We ended up finding a place in downtown Salisbury.

Pub is

Delightful pub with excellent accommodation. Cosy or elegant indoor dining areas and extensive outside seating area. Imaginative and tasty menu. Rooms very nicely appointed with lovely additional touches (fresh milk in a flask; home baked cookies; tea and coffee with cafetiere). Hindon is a picturesque village with charming cottages and discernable outlines of the many coaching inns once there (of which the Grosvenor Arms is one). Plenty to do in the surrounding countryside. Very highly recommended for a short break holiday.

This was one of the best experiences I’ve had in all of England staying at this charming inn. The food was outstanding as well as the service and staff. I would highly recommend this to anyone, especially if you want to visit several of the southern Pride and Prejudice movie sites such as Stourhead or Wilson House. Stonehenge is also close by! Great location!

The welcome at the Grosvenor Arms was great and the homemade cookies on arrival were a lovely touch. The room was a good size, clean, in a lovely condition and quietly facing away from the road. The bathroom was clean and easy to use. The bar was lively in the evening for a friendly pint or two. The breakfast was delicious, in a good quantity and with quality, local ingredients.

The breakfast was included which was a nice touch and the food was very high quality and fresh. Staff were friendly as was the manager and you get a complimentary cookie from the kitchen on arrival in your room. Very cosy comfortable and spacious rooms in a loverly area.
