Staff at check in were very helpful, room was excellent coffee very good and breakfast was good quality with great choices

I was disappointed that there was no access to the spa unless you paid per person, disappointed by my stay as I stay in a lot of hotels and considering this is supposed to be one of the best in Cardiff it did not live up to the standards you might expect. No parking

My recent stay at The Parkgate was faultless. As my review indicates, the stay was perfect and, i will definately stay again and have already recommended to friends and family.

Lonely hotel with a fab spa

Nice old heritage hotel.

We absolutely loved this hotel. The decor is very tasteful, it's in a good location, the staff are friendly and professional and the rooms are well equipped. One of the nicest hotels weve stayed in.

Great property and central.

Fabulous experience all round ! Check in staff were lovely and friendly and very accommodating. Rooms were top notch and Elemis products were welcomed. Used the spa and enjoyed the experience. Can’t wait to stay again.

The spa is spectacular!

Everything was as expected except at check-in, we were not offered a room upgrade and we were not told about our 30% spot discount. As VIPs, Hotels.com mentioned we would have these perks. After discussing with reception, we were given the 30% discount. A room upgrade was never offered although it seems there was room availability.

Professional, courteous, cooperative, friendly & helpful

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Park gate ideally positioned in the centre gives you many places to dine or drink. If there was one minus it was the hot food side of the breakfast.The plates were cold and the food in the tureens were left to become empty before refilling. The sausages seemed to have been cooked hours earlier, the rest was equally cold just not good enough for that standard of hotel.

Quite average overall for the price

Check in staff not up to standard , rooms are ok . None if our group ( I booked 7 rooms !) got the upgrade for VIP status for Platinum members , and overall the experience was mediocre . There is lot of room for improvement re staff .

Restaurant food was delicious. Staff were friendly. Room was clean and spacious.
