The room was a small basic room with no washing facilities. The bed was very comfortable, the heating was good and there was a TV. The meal we had in the dining room was very good with good friendly service. The one person communal wash room was very adequate and spacious.

Had pizza yummy .I had ribeye steak.i worked 35 years at frezzing works.that

We stayed in the two room apartment...each one a separate room. Excellent value. Upstairs from a great restaurant, across the road from the nor-wester Cafe (an excellent cafe). For the money this property is basically perfect.

Really enjoyed our stay and Lucky kindly took good care of us and changed rooms, food was exceptional, had seafood basket and buyer chicken. Loved the facilities in the room and even a shared kitchen. Thank you highly recommend All staff friendly and welcoming

Great stopover on our way to the Picton ferry. Meal option was great, nice renovation, clean, tidy, comfy bed..Exceeded our expectations. Would stay there again. Recommended

An excellent and friendly hotel for an overnight stay. While the bedroom was very small it was warm and comfortable, while the help-yourself kitchen with hot drink and breakfast items was an excellent idea.

Parking OK. Location of reception difficult to find but once found, in the bar, ended up with a warm and guided tour to my room. Adequate sized room and after a little testing the necessary heating on a cold day, operated effectively. With a room at the front, overlooking the main SH 1, the windows could do with double glazing. The kitchen facilities worked after an explanation with most provisions for a continent breakfast in a central ‘kitchen’ then it was just ‘help yourselves’ and take to your room. Basic comment, I would stay again!

Mostly clean room. Bin hadn’t been emptied of a drink can and there was a ‘toffee pop’ biscuit under the chair. Shared bathroom which I didn’t think I was getting when I booked the room. Poor breakfast choices. Could not access the fire escape from the room as the window only opened about three inches. Frightening safety issue. The room booklet stated the restaurant was closed Monday and a Tuesday when in fact this was not true and had not been updated - I would not be surprised if people ate elsewhere as a consequence. One of the staff told me this was meant to be updated when the new owners took over last year but I thought this was a small detail which was sloppy and could lead to financial loss.

Great scenic area. Wine tasting nearby. Hotel was wonderful and quiet.

Bar in building although it did close before 10 pm -so noise was not bad

Lovely place to stay, very clean and smart. It was good getting out of Christchurch and eating up some of the kms 😁

Loved that this older pub has been completely refurbished to a high degree. Loved the Don Binney paintings and large pictures in dining area. Lovely outdoor garden bar.

Room only...no bathroom or toilet...had to go across the hall to use facilities.

Amberley Hotel is our go to when we come to North Canterbury. We know that we will always get a clean room and great service. Very happy with our accom at The Amberley Hotel :)

Very noisy all night. Beds okay. No lift so had to carry bags up stairs.

Our stay was for one night for the purpose of getting people to Chch airport from Blenheim. The accomodation facilities were ideal for two couples at a reasonable rate. Facilities modern and clean.
