I’m not really sure what to say about this stay. We knew we were booking an older motel in a small town, and we weren’t expecting luxury—just a clean place to sleep and shower for the night. However, the property advertises “newly renovated rooms,” and the room we stayed in definitely didn’t reflect that. It felt like stepping into a 90s time capsule.
Unfortunately, there were several issues that made the stay less enjoyable. The fire alarm went off while I was in the shower, the TV remote appeared to be glued to the TV stand with some mysterious substance, the chair had stains and was covered in the same questionable residue, and there was a thick black hair stuck in the lid of the ketchup bottle left in the room.
On a positive note, the bed sheets appeared clean, and the bathroom towels smelled fresh and some coffee and muffins in the morning were provided. We got through the night, but I think a little more attention to cleanliness and maintenance would go a long way. For a budget motel, I don’t expect perfection, but I do expect the room to feel clean and reasonably well cared for.
In summary - it served its purpose.
