On arrival, we were assigned an “upgraded apartment” that was approximately 383 metres from the hotel we had originally booked. Both of us have knee problems, and we had to pull our luggage uphill to the new location. Although the kitchen in the apartment was new and the bathroom was functional, the room was filled with mismatched old furniture. The two beds were uncomfortable, and the blankets were old and unattractive. One of the windows had a large hole in it, and another could not be shut properly. In addition, one of the ceiling lights was not working.
We did not move to another hotel because we wanted to spend our time touring Quebec City instead of searching for another hotel. The whole experience with Auberge Saint-Louis Quebec City was a nightmare, and I would not wish anyone to go through the same experience we had.
