There was mold and mildew on the shower head (it was actually black with the mold) and around the shower door. I've seen this before at other hotels but this was the worst. Also, the pull out couch was the worst my daughter has slept on and we got two foam underlay things to help with it and it still did not allow her to sleep. We had to buy a blow up bed for her to be able to sleep on the floor which was better than the couch/bed. Other items to be aware of is that many of the electrical sockets did not work to plug in phones etc and the room was run down overall (kitchen cupboard water damage on bottom of them, balcony screen had holes in it, walls dented etc). We mentioned this to the front staff and they said they new it was like this but had no time to fix anything as it was booked solid. We tried to go into another room but they said they were booked up. So BEWARE - this is definitely not worth the cost we paid for it. Parksville is a lovely place but don't choose this resort as it needs to be updated or at least maintained better. Also, I sent a message to the GM and have yet to hear back from her on our disappointment. I will update this review if we hear back from her.

The hotel was okay, but for the price I did expect more. We stayed for 8 nights and there was no housekeeping or restocking at any point during our stay. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were nice, but they are running a swim school in the pool and the entire pool is not available for use at all times. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi were also nice. The covered parking is a nice bonus. The room was very outdated, with old appliances and well worn furniture and finishes. The towels are extra small. The shower water does not get hot, and the water pressure is low. Overall our stay was okay, but not worth the amount of money we paid

Walls were paper thin. Couldn’t sleep with all the noise. Very hot. No AC. Dirty and run down.

This place is wonderful. Quiet, relaxing, lots of fun things todo. At check out, I was charged an extra $71.68 for GST even though my Expedia invoice shows $234.86 in taxes paid. Pacific Shores told me to contact Expedia as the invoice does not specify GST. I have contacted Expedia, and awaiting response. First Expedia agent didn't know what GST was, then ended chat with fees and taxes may change when i asked what the taxes I paid were for. The second Expedia agent said they will contact Pacific Shores and figure out what is going on. Our stay, the staff and week was excellent, just ended on a sour note. This is our fourth stay here and have never encountered this tax issue. Hopefully there will be some resolution so I can give the 5 stars the resort deserves and the usual Expedia service we receive. Easy check in. Very clean. Comfortable beds. Loved the fire pits on the beach at the end of a long day exploring. Would love to stay here again in the future.

The staff were very accommodating! We were given a room with a giant sky light. No cover. Not sure who would be able to sleep in that room. Don’t book a 3rd floor room. The front desk girl was amazing, and so accommodating. She was able to switch us quickly without a fuss. Very appreciative of her customer service. The rooms were fine, clean. But super noisy as they are all joined lock off rooms. The “resort and spa” feel was lack lustre. The gym was very small, and the pics looked better online. The indoor pool was very busy. Lots of kids and families. There is no restaurant in the hotel, this wasn’t mentioned on Expedia. So we have to leave the resort to eat. Had we known this we would not of booked. It was just an ok experience. Was clean. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and noisy! Anytime you rolled over or moved the entire bed squeaked waking up the other person. Wasn’t the “resort” experience we hoped for. Would not book again.

The property has lots of fun amenities for kids and families, however, it is a bit dated and needs some attention. The rooms are not air-conditioned and quite stuffy so bring a fan if you’re planning on staying in the summer.

The ground staff we amazing and lovely - the room was dated and mouldy not somewhere we wanted our small child in. Ended up checking out a day early.

The room is spacious.Clean and had everything you needed

The rock hot tub was nice as was the pool. It was very quiet there with usually no one in the hot tub. The room was ok except for slamming doors next door to me the first night. The room was dated, needed a paint job and the shower was designed that you had to get in it to turn it on. Be prepared for a cold blast of water before you can adjust it.

The room was not tidy. There was white hair on the floor.

Beautiful property, but maintenance could be a little bit better. Disappointed in the quality of the sofa hide a bed. Very uncomfortable. When Expedia said there would be two beds. I was not expecting one to be a high a bit. Other than that, the apartment was gorgeous. Ready access to the wrath Trevor Beach was a bonus. Said that the main dining room was closed. I’ve been there before when it was open.
