Our room was newly-renovated with a lovely, large bathroom. Our hosts were friendly and helpful and the pub was excellent. Would definitely stay again!

When a room looks too good to be true. Booked due to its location for visiting friends in both Hastings and Eastbourne, this seemed like the perfect affordable compromise. Frustratingly, it doesn’t advertise the open hours for the pub anywhere in the listing on hotels.com. Their website states the pub was open until 20:00 on Sundays. At 16:37 I get an email informing me they close at 17:00 and they aren’t open on Monday. This changed my plans from a 18:00 check in and drinks in the pub to dropping off my luggage and driving 20 minutes to find somewhere in Lewes to get food and drink. Room looked tired and was accessed via an outdoor metal staircase that’s not dog friendly and the breakfast was sub par. I really can’t recommend this place to anyone.

The breakfast was more than we anticipated and fresh and appetising. The car parking was small and safe.

A nice and traditional pub, perfect for a one night stay. Situated next to a busy crossroad, and sometimes a bit noisy because of the traffic.

A clean and bright room, light breakfast was just right. Parking was easy too. Very friendly hosts.
