Room was very clean the view from the room was looking over the river, having a balcony was lovely if it was summer time it would have been lovely sitting outside. Room 204 highly recommend. Evening meal of chicken supreme was excellent.

Har bott på The Trout flera gånger tidigare och har alltid varit väldigt nöjd. Rykten vi hörde på byn sa att det blivit ny ägare och att det inte var lika bra längre. När vi kom dit så höll man på med renovering och vi blev initialt placerade i ett rum som inte alls motsvarade våra förväntningar. Personalen var som alltid tidigare helt fantastisk och de löste ett annat rum till oss. Även om det finns många bra matställen i Cockermouth så tycker jag att The Trout har riktigt bra mat, så vi åt de flesta middagarna på hotellet.

No a bad place to stay. Staff were missing when we went for breakfast but otherwise not too bad. Room was more traditional rather than modern and no air con made it a bit stuffy.

On hearing we were celebrating a 90th birthday our booking was upgraded and our suite overlooking the river was delightful. All the staff were pleasant and most helpful. An enjoyable stay.
