Lovely stay - thanks!

Mooie locatie, lekkere restaurants, leuke attentie.

Not every day you stay in a literal castle. Walking up to and around the castle and knowing it would be our home for a short time was awe inspiring. Just what we were looking for. It was perfect to eat outdoors at the bistro in the courtyard as if it were home. Inside, the bistro has a terrific menu and the dining experience at Aurum’s would be fitting for royalty. I came with my son and would like to return with the rest of my family. I will note that The interior is most like a modern 5 star hotel with details of age - the aura of age doesn’t hold as strong - but not sure I would want to really feel like it was 1060 when I went to go to sleep….

The place is beautiful, but no air conditioning, just a fan in the room. Hotels of this category and price in Europe now have air conditioning. No pool either. People must be attentive to the payment. The receptionist did not ask for the payment when we checked in. At check out she said that she couldn't find the payment collected by Expedia, but she had the card number that Expedia sent. She went ahead and charge for the room again without given me the chance to show the Expedia receipt. When I did, she offered to reimburse the charge wrongly, or in bad faith, made. After five days it has not posted.

We stopped here when driving to Germany from UK. It was excellent. A perfect stop off with great rooms (decor ridiculously over the top but funny and comfortable rather than mad). Restaurant great. Grounds great. And you can drink the wine from their vineyards (which we did). I don’t know why this place would exist where it does or how it survives, but the restaurant was packed - must be the place to eat for the locals.

L’établissement est magnifique, le personnel très gentil. La privatisation du spa est un vrai plus.

Tout était parfait sauf le bruit des chaises / fauteuils au Bistrot Richard

This place was absolutely stunning. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and comfortable and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. We had dinner in the Bistro Richard and it was spectacular.

Kamer was mooi en in stijl ingericht. Moderne designstoeltjes pasten goed in het klassieke interieur, zaten redelijk. Het kasteel was prachtig. Ontbijt uitgebreid en fantastisch lekker.

Prachtige kamer, vriendelijke personeel kortom een heerlijk verblijf die ik iedereen aan kan bevelen

Alles was prima in orde, voelde ons thuis, en vooral het 4 gangen diner werd met veel expertise gereseveerd ,prima uitleg met het eten en de enthousiasme! Ik zou het zo weer doen een dikke 10

The property is amazing, our room is so spacious and beautiful. Staff very friendly and very nice with children. Unfortunately the street very close to it is a home to many, many sex shops with girls in the windows even during the day 😂

The dining experience at Aurum was excellent. The Chef is world-class (and was very nice and personable). Service was attentive and sommelier was helpful.

Fairytale Accommodation

Prachtig kasteel, supervriendelijk personeel! Fantastisch ontbijt! 2 minpuntjes : kamer lag in annex waar je dus geen effect hebt van kasteeluitstraling. Bovendien wordt ontbijt daar ook gegeven en is wellness ook daar waardoor je dus enkel voor receptie in kasteel komt. 2 de minpunt is dat ik betaald had online, er mij bij uitchecken gevraagd werd de kamer te betalen . Ik vermeldde duidelijk dat ik reeds betaald had maar dat nadien zag ik dat geld toch van mijn kaart gehaald werd. Ik meldde dit telefonisch, waarop ze mij onmiddellijk mail gingen sturen. Hopelijk komt dit nog in orde

Incredible stay in beautiful surroundings. Wonderful staff, friendly and welcoming. Room was perfect, well stocked mini bar. Both Restaurant Aurum and Bistro Richard served absolutely brilliant meals. Will definitely be back in the future.
