The suite and the building are gorgeous, and very comfortable. Wilma, who took care of day to day needs, was an absolute delight and a great help. The location is convenient to most things visitors would like to see and visit.
My overall rating reflects the relatively high cost of this location versus à lack of amenities I think most visitors would want to see.
Most specifically, while lovely, the kitchen was barely useful for cooking - if you’re going to allow that, and provide bare minimum amenities, you’re almost passively discouraging cooking. Cooking vessels and utensils were minimal in number and of poor quality, while the dishes, cups, plates and glasses were wonderful. A single, tiny, old nespresso maker is grossly inadequate- a standard coffee brewing station would be far better. There was no blender, so one can’t make salsa and cocktails as one would wish. No toaster, and with the lovely fresh bread all around, that’s a shame. Fix that nd you’d have a kitchen worth the price.
The terraza was lovely, but placing chairs and loungers out there without a single umbrella borders on rude. Yes, we’re gueros and guaras, and yes, at 5200’ in high desert, we BURN. Not providing those is incredibly inconsiderate!
That’s the rant, and maybe that’s just me, it I doubt it.
The neighborhood is lovely, and there are Michelin restaurants close by that are stunningly good. Mercados up the hill and down in Merced are lovely and not touristy like the downtown versions.
