Had to wait 2 hours before we could get into room. Hotel shut 🤐.

My wife and I booked the 3 Kings at Fornham All Saints near Bury St Edmunds for our wedding anniversary, as it was near Fuller’s Mill Gardens and they also served evening meals and had a bar, so we didn’t have to worry abut drink driving. On arrival we were informed that they no longer served evening meals, which now ment we had to search the internet for places to eat. The next day we had breakfast then went to the Fuller’s Mill Gardens. When we arrived back there was a note on the doors stating “We are sorry but due to electrical issues the pub is closed” and a contract number. We walked around the pub and the blinds were closed and no lights on, but all the external guest rooms units had power? More guests arrived and couldn’t book in, so they ring the contact number numerous times and left messages, but no answer, till they got annoyed, then someone arrived and let them in. In the morning the electrical issue sign were still there, so I walk around to the front, the blinds were still down but I could see someone inside who came to the door and informed me they were serving a cooked breakfast? We were informed the restaurant and the pub were now permanently closed, but they were still using the external letting rooms and serving a cooked breakfast. We had book a 3 nights stay, but as they no longer served evening meal and drinks they were no longer for filling their part of the contract, we left after 2 nights. We contacted Hotels.com, but they couldn't' help!

On arrival at 2:45 for 3pm check in we were told by the girl it was £15 for an early check in, at £1 a minute we said no thank you we will sit in the car. We said there was coffee pods in the room but no Coffee machine, she said oh I don’t know, so that was the end of that. Next morning with another guest we were trying to get into the pub area, only to find both doors were locked. The same girl as yesterday eventually opened up and said you should use other door, when we said we did she said Oh it could be faulty then. No apology ! Breakfast was different, posh menu but nothing standard, if you have kids forget it. We asked if there were any cereals ie cornflakes, weetabix etc ? No we’ve run out we were busy yesterday ! Any yoghurt or preserves, jam or marmalade, No we’ve run out ! Ok do you have porridge ? Can you ask please, then we heard the cheff shout in the back area porridge is not on the menu. We asked was there any toast, No just bread and butter ! When the breakfast arrived it had the porridge in the middle of the plate with the cooked items around it, that was a first. I asked for sugar as honey was a no no and she brought sugar lumps from off the bar. At that point we gave up. Food was nice, front of house attitude was terrible, you didn’t feel a guest, you were just another burden. No good morning or goodbye. Shame it could have been a good stay but obviously someone has no idea about hospitality or to create an environment you would wish to return to.

It would be easy to mention a few negatives....but I'm not going to as staff dealt with these rather well. Huge praise for the young lady (Bob) who appears to single-handedly run the bar, restaurant, & hotel reservations. Food was very good, so compliments to the chef. We would certainly return.

No breakfast !!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Three Kings pub, excellent accommodation, lovely staff. We had a problem on our second morning there as the pub was all locked up at breakfast time and no staff around. Sorted later that day and we were refunded for our missing breakfast

Lovely location and the room served a purpose. Found one of the staff members a little unprofessional, she was dark haired and younger, laying blame on other colleagues when we were misinformed about key things. Rather than trying to find a solution. Young dark haired guy was lovely and his customer service was very good. Breakfast was good quality.

Couldn’t get normal tv channels

The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. En-suite a bit dated although the shower was good. Lovely breakfast and helpful staff. No coffee machine in our room - apparently it was broken - but no alternative offered. The TV didn’t work. Evening meal was very good but service slow especially re taking our order then clearing plates and bringing jugs of water.

Lovely pub and rooms, super helpful and friendly staff. Rooms were also spacious and clean.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean with all the amenities with tea and coffee making facilities. When we were shown our room and we had to take the stairs to get to it, my wife didn't expect this. Once in the room, my wife was expecting a robe but none was provided. There is a radiator in the room which we had to use in the morning. We had a quiet and peaceful night. We had dinner and it took some time but it was worth the wait, the food was excellent. The next morning, we had breakfast which was included, it was very good. We enjoyed our stay there. My wife was trying to ring on the same day after 12 pm, she could not get an answer.

This is the second time I have been here, the food is wonderful. The staff are friendly. Good variety at breakfast. Will definately return.

The breakfast was very disappointing. We were only offered the menu of cooked dishes. I had to ask for cereal which consisted of a small packet of cornflakes. There was no breakfast bar which one normally finds in hotels with a selection of fresh fruit, marmalade, jams etc. For this reason, I would not choose this pub again. This is a shame as we enjoyed our dinner and the room and facilities were fine.
