Overall, this lodge is ok. On the positive, Trader Joe's, Starbucks and some other shops are just up the street. The hotel is a few minutes from the freeway, so access is easy. The room is spacious and clean. The bathroom is small. The room had a weird smell, maybe from the cleaning agent or something, was a bit annoying.

Its an older motel, but nicely remodeled. Definitely a great value for the stay! Would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is located in a redevelopment area under construction. The hotel is fairly old but recently remodeled and very clean. Access from the highway is convenient and located less than 30min from the beach.

Everything about to stay at the Escondido Lodge was great except for having a bed that was not so comfortable in a little springy and made a lot of noise when you moved around. Other than that it was great

Would like a coffee maker in the room.

Everything was good except for the coffee you had to go to the front desk for coffee. When I got there, there was no coffee. Looks like the guy was asleep behind the desk some kid. He said oh sorry I’ll make some right now. Went back 30 minutes later. The coffee was not even lukewarm and it was awful. The hairdryer in the room did not work at all my girl needed it. Went to the front desk to see if they had another hairdryer. The same kid at the front desk said I will find out I will call you. I never got that call went back up to the front desk just to hear him telling me no they don’t have another hairdryer. Why don’t they check that stuff before they rent the room out? Why do they have the hairdryer hanging on the wall.

The evening staff was very helpful unlike the morning staff which was the complete opposite.

Yes. Remodeled seem like paint was just added over. Room was dirty. Had to wipe down ourselves.

One nigth stay, it was great front desk & closed to highway & food. Room was great with comfortable bed.

Room was exactly as picture depicts. Staff was friendly and personable. Parking is limited for the number of rooms.

The room was clean which was great . Had an extra charge on my card but manager made it right and returned what was charged extra .

Clean , smelled nice, no bugs or pest. Pet friendly. Would stay again.

Needed a room for one night, this was a nice, clean, quiet, modernized room with a comfortable bed.

Great stay when you're in a bind and/or on a budget. My girlfriend, dog, and I had to fumigate our house so we needed a place to crash for a couple nights without breaking the bank. Honestly, when we saw the price we were expecting the worst. However, the staff was beyond friendly, the room and linens were clean, the pool looked up-kept, and house keeping was constantly present. I wouldn't say this is a vacation getaway, but if you need a place just to lay your head for a bit, you can't go wrong! Also, they have a small dirt area you can walk your dog to relieve themselves, but if you're dog is annoyingly fussy like ours, a 5-minute walk north is an animal hospital with a huge grass area. Overall, lucky to have found this place. No complaints!
