We got a very warm welcome and the hotel is characterful. All the staff were helpful. The food was very good and the breakfast was very enjoyable with quality ingredients. The only thing we didn’t like was that we booked two rooms, one being a twin and of a higher standard than the double. We were offered two of the same lower grade rooms. We were eventually given the second better room which was lovely, but if it hadn’t been available we would have been paying a premium for the lower standard room. Apparently it was something to do with having booked through Expedia??? The amount she had on the system showed that we had paid less than we actually had. I could prove this as I had the email confirmations. an explanation would be welcome .
